July 31 - August 7, 2005

1st time Hedo travelers.

If I seem a little vague about the days or times of some of the activities, its because it all does seem to be a bit of a wonderful surrealistic dream!

Flew in on Delta. Flight crew hands out immigration and customs forms. They tell you that you only need one for a family, or in our case, husband and wife. But when you get to the immigration line, you will need one for each of you, so ask for one for each member of your traveling party. Its the white form with red and black lettering.

Took the shuttle from the airport. Superclubs has a lounge where one checks in and waits in A/C comfort while the next shuttle is readied. Its not a long wait.....barely long enough to complete the registration form that is given you there. I had tip moneys all ready in my pockets to properly tip the bag handlers and bus driver. I tipped 1 dollar per bag (even though I actually handled it to the bus myself) lifted into the bus, and 5 to the bus driver upon our arrival to Hedo. Thats where the tipping stopped, per resort rules.

Bus ride is quite an adventure! Our bus driver, No Problem Mike drove briskly through the towns and countryside. Roads are quite narrow and there is a lot of give and take driving for traffic to share the narrow roads, especially when someone is parked on the roadway (there are areas where there are no shoulder or sidewalk).
Ive been told how much better the road is now than it was, but in comparison to American roads, its not much more than a paved goat path in places.....ok, ok, I exaggerate a little, but for a major highway, its not even as good as our neighborhood 2 lane road...

There is lots to see of the Jamaican countryside and cities you pass through. The level of poverty in some areas is stark and disturbing, though the people always had a smile for the touristas.... no doubt, I suppose, to the dollars each of us represent to the economy of the island, but the Jamaicans we met seemed to be very genuine, proud people.

Highly recommended to register an e-mail address on the Visitors Schedules on DennyP travel and begin to communicate with others that will be there on or about the same time you are. We did this and had a built in community of friends by the time we arrived. It was so nice to be hailed at the moment we stepped off the shuttle bus and handed a fresh Purple Rain by someone who had arrived before us!

We had arrived on a Sunday around 1:15 at the resort and had our room assignment by 2:00. We just took our drinks into the main dining hall directly beyond the check in desk and began to get acquainted with some of the people we had been writing to, as well as others that they knew , and they knew.....! In no time at all we had quite a circle of friends and acquaintances! After a couple of drinks I just went back out to the front desk and got our room keys, and a valet helped us find our room. We were booked Garden View, Au Natural (nude), and ended up in the H block building facing toward the nude pool.

Within minutes we were unpacked, naked, sunscreened, and in the nude pool. Stepping through the shallow pool toward the nude pool, there is the grotto on the right and the jacuzzi on the left and we saw our first PDA right there! Grinning from ear to ear we proceeded to the pool, waded up to the bar and had our first Dirty Banana. Nekkid people everywhere, laughing, talking, drinking...... this is all the heaven I ever need! We met some more people we had e-mailed and expanded our circle of friends.

Dinner in the main dining hall was very satisfying every night we ate there and of reasonable variety. The ECs (Entertainment Coordinators) do a good job of keeping things interesting and have something going on each meal, from lunchtime wet t-shirt contests to battle of the sexes, as well as other less obviously sexy themes. the house band, Roots Explosion is very good and not too loud, unless you sit at the tables immediately around the performance area. The main dining buffet is open air and can be warm. The Munasan oriental restaurant is also in this area and with the cooking style of being seated right at the grill can be even hotter, even though there are lots of fans and an exhaust boot right over the grill.

Every night (heh, every other meal too, for that manner) some women would be dressed in very exotic and revealing clothing. This had been our plan too, that my wife would wear things that she could never wear back home. Some call it slut-wear, and its very entertaining! Pajama Party Night is Tuesday and the level of exotic wear at dinner goes way up, even though the actual party is in the Jezebel disco starting at 11 o'clock PM! This party is way over the top and a real eye opener, as the trend is toward clothing that you would probably never wear to bed, never admit to anyone you even owned!!! My wife had a lovely semi-transparent slip with matching thong with high heeled FMPs (F*ck Me Pumps).... I had on a t-shirt that had an arrow pointing to my nether regions and said Im With Stupid, along with a mesh male panty in rainbow colors and a pair of sunglasses attached to the front. I had to explain that he was my seeing eye dick Our costumes were quite tame, though not out of place and I even won 3rd prize for most original that night! Be prepared for ANYTHING at PJ Party! Youll gasp, youll giggle, youll sport a chub!

One item of caution. When one drinks back home, there are built in constraints: driving, paying for the drinks, having a family to wake up to, job or jobs.... with all these constraints removed, it is very very easy to drink way to much, way too fast and end up passed out or sick. It happened to me our first full day there. I went up like a skyrocket in the afternoon, made it till supper and then had to head for the room and sleep it off....dont let this happen to you! Pace yourself! Have a non-alchohol or water every other drink. Youll party longer and hurt less.

We spent our mornings with a very lingering, casual breakfast, followed by an hour or 3 sitting on the nude beach, in lounge chairs located under a lovely tree for shade. There was a couple of similar mind there that we became very good friends with. After a couple hours there, wed start over to Robert's grill and get a cheeseburger or a grilled cheese sandwich (with tomato, is out of this world!).
Sitting on the beach watching the boat traffic and swimmers, it was amusing to watch all the small tour boats from other resorts stopping in front of Hedo, no doubt due to its notoriety. The boats have to stay outside the swimming ropes, so they are not real close, but many times myself, the wife and/or others would stand up and do a little dance for the tourists.

Afternoons we would graduate to the nude pool and begin to mix, mingle and watch as the day went on. Things were pretty tame till thursday, when someone started up with body shots on the edge of the pool. Soon the other side of the pool was into the same activity. Soon, we were engaged in our own body shots! It was great fun and as erotic a thing as I have ever witnessed/participated in.

There was naked beach volleyball nearly every day at 4 o'clock. Though one day they couldnt find the ball.... we said wed play without a ball, but the EC said no.... Another day there was a naked female nude wrestling competition! The resort uses a large inflatable swimming pool for the contestants to be in on the beach and didnt have too much trouble finding 4 willing females to grapple. After the eliminations and final match, things got even more interesting with the two best women wrestling a single man! Fun to watch and cheer! We were also led on one water slide invasion, where an EC leads as many nude side bathers on a march to the prude side water slide for a couple of trips down the slide. More wild reckless fun.

We had been invited to a wedding by friends we had made via e-mail and Wednesday at 4 pm the service, which had been tentatively set for the point on the nude side beach, had been moved into the game room in the Piano Bar. There were probably 26 of us in attendance and the ceremony was very sweet and filled with love. It was one of the high points of our trip there, but to be honest, every day, every night was filled with high spots. They just kept happening!

We tried a little snorkeling, using equipment available from the dive shack, which seemed in very good condition. We just lay across one of the foam lounge pads for support and kicked our way around the swim area right in front of the nude beach, out to the point. We were amazed at the diversity of aquatic life to be seen! All sorts of small colorful fish, a small octopus, a barracuda (small, about 18 hiding in the shadows of one of the swim platforms!) starfish, conch, and even two rays out off the point! This amazing snorkeling adventure has led us to conclude we must get scuba certified before our next visit!

Toga night was fun! We just used the supplied sheets and tied and pinned them on. This even could be better attended, but I fear many repeating guests have begun to find it tiresome..... but whats to tire from? You have to dress for dinner anyway...
One woman we dined with didnt use a bed sheet, but instead used two pillowcases pinned only at the shoulders, one in front and one in back, and while the coverage was modest enough, the slightest breeze or movement made for a lovely show! And she carried herself with such aplomb I was very impressed! Later, we went back to our room and retied our togas (togi?) with tips we learned at dinner. Next trip it may not fall off!

Saturday we had our anniversary dinner in the Italian restaurant Pastafari. Its air conditioned, and very tastefully decorated. The food was first rate and service was excellent! It was a lovely romantic meal and worthy of any celebration.

There always seems to be so much concern about single guys and swingers at the resort, and truthfully, we had some minor concerns about that ourselves. But during our week there we were never bothered, which is not to say we werent involved in friendly conversations. People talk and mingle and the entire atmosphere is incredibly conducive to making acquaintance of people. We were invited by one couple, but a simple, polite no didnt spoil the conversation or our evening. They were, in fact as nice a couple as we ever met on our visit. There was also a single guy that caught our (and everyone else's too, I dare say) attention. He was from Canada and just mixed right in with every activity. He was amazing! Always a smile and seemed to be EVERYWHERE something fun was going on He exhibited more courage and honest enjoyment than we as a couple would ever dare, and became something of a symbol of fun to us....... I wont mention names but he was the one that helped with the nude oil wrestling....you know who you are! My hat (the only clothing I wore regularly) is off to you my friend!

Our Alltell cell phone worked without a hitch or even a phone call to our provider! We just took it along for stateside in case of a flight delay. Just got the bill today, and our 3 calls back home only added 7 dollars to our phone bill.

This had been our first trip to Hedo II, but without a doubt it wont be our last. The friends and acquaintances we made there were very much fun and we have kept in touch with many since returning home.

As for the staff at the resort, they were very personable, accommodating and friendly. Our favorites were Winston, Ray-Ray and Leonard of the entertainment staff, while the ground staff, particularly Hedley and Augustus made our time there very memorable! We thank you, and all the staff that work very hard to make Hedo truly a wonderful, relaxing, beautiful place to be!
