Greg & Debbie - May, 2004

Greg and Debbies Hedo II Trip Report, May 7-11, 2004

This was our first trip to Hedo II after a year or so of occasionally reading trip reports on Denny Ps site and wondering if Hedo was for us. The short answer is- it is and we waited too long to start going.

Decisions

Once we decided on a Hedo vacation, our first dilemma was which one, Hedo II or III? We found it difficult to decide since the trip reports indicated that most people liked the one they visited and the reports that compared the two found equal amounts of goods and not-so-goods. Some trip reports declared outright winners but most gave us a pretty good run-down on what to expect.

Based on those reports, we initially decided that for a couple close to 50 and who have been married 28 years (to each other), Hedo III would be the best place since our take was it was less wild and a newer resort.

After more discussion, reading more trip reports, and a call to Denny P, we made reservations for Hedo II, because it was wilder, an older resort, and had the best beach.  We decided that wild meant different things to different people and the only way to know was to experience it first hand. The older resort appealed to us because we knew that if Superclubs was investing the money in renovations, they knew it was worth it. The best beach made the decision easy. We both find relaxing on a great beach the perfect getaway.

Our Vacation at Hedo II

We made the perfect decision for us. We enjoyed the resort, the entertainment, the food, and the company of new friends. A lot has been said in trip reports about the food and service-both good and bad.  We found the food very good at the main dining buffet, the beach grills, Pastafaris, and Munasan. The service and friendliness of the staff was outstanding.  The room was clean, cool, and we took showers without injury (we were in an unrenovated room). The entertainment was good. The piano bar was fun. The drinks were great and plentiful. The henna tattoo Debbie got on the beach was shown back at home to anyone who wanted to look.

We slept on the prude side but we spent almost all of our time on the nude side of the resort. Getting naked in front of strangers is a big deal-for about 3 minutes and then you cant remember what the big deal was about. We saw a few PDAs and found some erotic, others entertaining. Single men were sometimes nearby but respectful to a no thanks.

We both agree that the thing that sets a Hedo vacation apart from the other gazillion weve taken was the friendliness of your fellow vacationers and the Hedo staff.  We instantly felt at home and thoroughly enjoyed meeting, talking, dining, soaking, and spending time with strangers who became our friends.

We believe that a vacation at Hedo can be anything you want. The resort, its staff, and its visitors give you that choice.  If you havent been-give it a try, we think you will like it. If you have been, you know what were talking about. We hope to see you there.
