THE TRIP DOWN
We went down a day early the 25th so we wouldn't be all stressed if the
flight was late or anything...when we got to Memphis they were looking for
volunteers to take a later flight in exchange for 2 free tickets for future
travel. We went for it then after everyone was on the flight we were supposed
to go on they let us know the flight they rebooked us on was delayed 2 hours
ended up getting down about 7 hours later than originally planned. Kind of a
pain but would we do it again ... sure. We stayed at Rockhouse the 1st night
it's on the cliff's in Negril.
HEDO II
Checked in no problem. We booked Run of House so we got prude garden view
about as far a walk as you could get from the nude area. Which as 1st timers
we weren't totally committed to the idea of hanging out naked all the time
anyway thought we might try it once then move on. We got something to eat
then took a sailboat out and went sailing for a bit. When we got back from
sailing and without any alcohol in our systems at all my husband started
heading over to the nude area. I had a mild panic attack..."what are we
doing?" "already" "are you sure?" but I refused to be the spoil sport, no way
,not me. I just went for the no top and quickly got into a lawn chair or
whatever you call those things while he went to get drinks. It really didn't
seem like that big of a deal after about oh 2 minutes. After a bit he wanted
to head out to one of those floaty docks out in the water I had a hat and
glasses that rendered me invisible i'm pretty sure so I went for it. No
problems..
The 1st night after dinner when we went to our rooms there was a "deal of a
lifetime" notice under our door. If we would move over to Grand Lido we would
have full run of both resorts plus future free nights compensation on our
next trip. We ran as fast as we could to the front desk to sign up. Even
after reading all the boards we couldn't see any negatives to the whole deal
and would do it again in a heartbeat. I could definitely see how the deal
wouldn't be for everyone if you don't like to walk a lot or afraid you might
miss some hedo activities don't do it.
We did find ourselves spending a lot of time at Lido so we may not have
gotten fully "hedonized" as quickly as we might have. We did head every day
back to hedo with our big cups full of whatever our drink of the day was for
the 4-6 or 7 nude cocktail hour. Sometimes he would mess with my head and try
to act like we were just going to hang out at Lido all day but of course I
was quickly addicted to Hedo and protested.
It was pretty funny to see the people from all the different resorts trying
their best to get as close to Hedo as they could see what they were missing.
I'm pretty sure if we had booked anywhere else our curiosity would have
killed us too.
It was way overbooked for the week so we were glad we brought our own towels.
Didn't really need the raft we had packed there were plenty available. When
packing clothes for the trip thought what I was packing was way too risque
once I got there wished I had picked out more risque stuff. Didn't run into
one rude or negative person the whole time at least not at Hedo. Saw some
PDA's but probably so oblivious missed a bunch too. As far as we could tell
most people were sitting around kind of hoping/waiting for shows to happen or
just talking and hanging out till the next one.
What would I do different next time? hmm maybe participate in more silly
games they are great ice breakers if your a little shy the afternoon games in
the main dining aren't soo soo embarrassing.
We have been to other all inclusives in Mexico all very nice but got bored
quickly and had to look for things to do off property. We were never even
tempted to leave the properties there was always something to do. It does
seem expensive when comparing to other all inclusives but when you think
about all the entertainment they have going all the time and the snorkeling
and glass bottom boat trips etc you do get a lot of bang for the buck. Of
course the people there are what makes the place everyone with a smile on
having a good time.
We will be back.
Hedo III
A beautiful property. I don't think there are any really bad rooms here. They
are either ocean or pool view of some sort as far as we could tell. Very nice
large comfortable with TV's not to seem like a tv addict but sometimes you
want a little down time without going to sleep so it's a definite plus.
On the subject of the TV it does have the playboy channel which I had never
watched b4, but after watching it for a bit I'm pretty sure I have it figured
out why so many single guys pick the hedo's as a vacation spot. I don't what
the name of the show was but guys call in to these playmates and the
playmates pretty much assure them they would do them if they were at Hedo.
I'm thinking hey if I was a single guy Hedo would be the place for me...
there are playmates everywhere ready for action.
At Hedo II it was so crowded I honestly couldn't tell who was single or part
of a couple at Hedo III it wasn't as crowded so it was a little easier to
figure out who wasn't attached. To me though all the singles we met or saw
seemed nice as could be. Smiled, participated, weren't rude.. I had no
problems with any of them. Also since Hedo III wasn't as crowded or maybe it
was because we were just becoming friendlier ourselves it was much easier to
meet people there.
The staff worked really hard to keep the crowd that was there involved and
having fun. I can't remember any of the staff at Hedo II but in all fairness
we spent a lot of time at Grand Lido and didn't get as involved so thats
probably why none of the staff really stands out.
The negatives well the beach was man made but it was nice having the pool and
hot tub right up against the water and watching the sunset. The water was
rougher so you couldn't take a hobie cat out yourself. The snorkeling was
better.
The prude/nude thing was a little different here most people would walk to
their chairs dressed then undress unlike 2 where everyone's just bopping
around naked. Kind of glad to have done 2 1st to get over the whole getting
naked thing. It's really no big deal but for a 1st timer it's a lot easier if
everyone you see is naked.
When we 1st arrived at Hedo III we really missed Hedo II once we got home we
missed Hedo III. Would we recommend going to Hedo heck yeah. Could we tell
anyone which one to pick? hmm nah they are both great would love to be able
to do both everytime. If only we were made of money.
Wish they would make the stay 14 get 3 free to include both Hedo's not just
one after doing the combo trip we are thinking that's the way to go but will
have to pick just one if we want to earn the free days next year. Denny see
what you can do...
If anyone has any specific questions feel free to email and have a great trip
