Jim & Annette - November, 2001

Trip Report Nov 1,2001 to Nov 7, 2001 Jim & Annette

As first timers we did not know what to expect. Airport here was OK and we expected delays but all and all it went smooth. we landed In Mo Bay with no problems went thru customs and decided to ship the bus ride because someone said it could take up to 3-4 hr. due to road construction. We booked with burl air and they had us there in 20 Minutes.  What a bumpy ride the Aircraft was like a flying Volkswagen. It seemed that everyone had their hand out for a five Dollar tip. they made no bones about it that what they wanted. Only exceptional service got it. We arrived for lunch and the room was not ready. We had met friends there and were to room next to them. However we had booked at the nude end and had to stay at the prude end due to the construction which was a real inconvenience.  About 3pm we got our room. The room was fine and had no problems with it except the shower which we did not complain about. It was Their Anniversary and they had a great dinner. they gave out t shirts which were placed in the rooms. Of course we did not get ours. So I went to the front desk and asked. It took 5 days and many trips to get the shirts. One day we went into town to do some shopping our driver Colin was the best. On the other hand the vendors were a bit pushy you just had to learn to say no.  Only the Nude Pool and hot tub was open as the other pool was under construction. Food was good for the most part except for late night snacks. Drinks were  great. The weather was not so good. Five days of Hurricane and two days of Sunshine. For which they gave us nothing. But we did get extra days for the construction. Due to the weather there was not boat or water activities. We met some real nice people saw some real funny costumes. For a place that has been called a swingers place we saw no activities like that and that's what I wanted to see. There were very few incidents where anyone got out of line. I heard one fellow needed security to protect him and he left the next day. I guess that's what they mean when they say No means No. At night the hot tub had so much chlorine in it you had to wait atleast a few hours to get near it. We made the best of the weather and made our own fun. Dirty Banana Drinks were the best. Roberts fried were the greatest. We purchased some things in town and they needed to be wrapped for the flight home. The front desk staff took care of it with no problem.

Service in the Dining area was excellent. If we can get back in November 2002 I hope all the Construction is done and the weather is better. I will say that with all the storm the grounds crew kept everything exceptionally clean. I was amazed that you could leave items outside your door and no one would touch them. I was upset with the fact that the front desk charged you $2.00 to connect you to the ATT operator for every call even with a prepaid phone card. We met some real nice folks, saw some great tattoos and some strange body piercing.  What a great place I want to give it one more try.
