Hedo II Rookie Trip

April 1, 2002 - April 6, 2002

As indicated above, this was our virgin trip to Hedo II, but surely will not be our last.  Before booking we read everything there was to read on the net about the resort, including all the trip reports on Dennys, and of course Chris book, The Naked Truth.  With this trip report we will try and focus on the things that we hope will be helpful to any other virgins that are thinking of taking the plunge !

BEGINNING AT THE BEGINNING

Planning for our trip started in October.   We have been married almost 18 years now, and Ts 40th birthday was coming up in the spring. The wife (T) had been working a very hectic schedule, we have two kids to chase around and burn out was beginning to show.   It was time for a vacation !  An internet search soon provided Hedonism II as a possible destination.  We had done the nudist thing before, so we knew that part would be ok, but like many first timers the Hedo Hype made T a bit apprehensive.  Reading the message boards and trip reports helped her feel more comfortable; I would definitely recommend that step to any first timers.

We booked our trip in November, and the long wait began.  During the next months we met a number of folks via the internet that were traveling during the same time frame.  This was a GREAT advantage, and allowed us to not only get to know some folks before the trip but to ask some Hedo Vets all the questions we had rolling around in our heads.  Again, I highly recommend that first timers find other travelers and spend some time chatting and getting to know each other.  This was a great part of the build up to the vacation, and made for great fun once we arrived !  Logging in to our message board, chatting and instant messaging became a daily ritual and provided many laughs and a lot of good advice.  (Thanks to Bratty Paramedic and Shockspot for setting up the web sites and to all the regular Tuesday nite chatters ! )

TRAVEL

We booked thru Air Jamaica for a direct flight out of BWI in Baltimore.  Our plan was to meet some internet friends to share a Tim Air flight from MB to Negril.  Good plan, but it didnt take long for it to fall apart.  Arriving at BWI at 5:00 am for our 8:00 am flight we were told that the flight would be delayed until 9:30... No problem Mon, we could handle that.  To make a long story short, the flight was delayed several more times, and our 8:00 am flight finally took off at 2:00 pm.  Not a good start to vacation as by that time we were planning to be sitting on the beach at Hedo !   Nine hours in the airport challenged our Vacation Attitude, but it was the Air Jamaica staff that presented the biggest challenge.  There were several very unpleasant encounters with Air Jamaica staff who were NO HELP AT ALL, KEPT US UNINFORMED THE ENTIRE TIME, were  RUDE, and what can only be called MALICIOUS in their dealings with frustrated customers.  Once on the plane, the flight crew was NOT FRIENDLY, PROVIDED  POOR SERVICE and TREATED US AS IF WE, THE CUSTOMER, WERE A MAJOR INCONVIENCE to them.  Based upon our experience, I would strongly advise Hedo visitors to AVOID AIR JAMAICA if at all possible.

We arrived in MB at 5:00 pm, and proceeded to Customs.  This was our first time through Customs and Immigration, and it all went smoothly; it was easy to find the right place due to the clear signs provided, and the officials worked quickly to get everyone processed.  Now it was on to the terminal to find the Tim Air representative.  Of course our late arrival had caused us to miss our reservations and the friends we were to share a flight with.   In no time we were standing in front of Vernon (I think that was his name) from Tim Air, along with 15 or so others who now wanted to fly to Negril instead of taking the bus.  THIS WAS WHEN OUR VACATION BEGAN !  Vernon had our names, knew of our flight delay and greeted us with a huge smile and a No problems Mon everything gonna be alright!.    With that, he escorted us to the shuttle for a quick private ride to the Tim Air terminal where we were again greeted with smiles.  Check in took only 5 minutes and it was straight out to the airplane where our pilot Andrew was waiting.  Without delay the engine was started and we were given a private flight to Negril.  This was Ts first flight in a small aircraft, and she was a bit nervous, but the flight was beautiful, Andrew made sure we were comfortable, and handled the plane very skillfully.  She enjoyed the entire flight and we both agree that Tim Air is the only way to get from MB to Negril !  Thirty minutes after walking up to Vernon in MB, we were standing in the lobby at Hedo with drink in hand !  VERY HIGH MARKS FOR TIM AIR !

THE RESORT

Check-in was a breeze, an it was off to our room.  Michel our bag man gave us a great tour as he lead us to our room, making sure to stop at the bar on the way and calling to the bartender to get these two nice people something cold to drink !  Arriving in our room (2212) we found it to be just what we expected.. a little dated in dcor, but spotlessly clean.  Opening our window we were surprised to look out and see the ocean; we had booked Nude Garden View, but to our delight discovered that we had been upgraded free of charge to Nude Ocean View !  Hedo (and Jamaica) brought out a relaxed attitude for us.  On day two, the roof began to leak; it was such an insignificant thing that we didnt even bother to call about it until the day before we left !  Anywhere else and this sort of thing would have been an issue for me, but somehow, here, it really seemed of no real importance!

It was time to explore !  Off with the clothes and to the nude beach and pool we headed.   We had not traveled far before we encountered the salesman in the boat just off the nude beach.  Two words of advice to the first time visitor if you decide to purchase any of the local agricultural products:  1) wait until you get to Hedo and 2) Negotiate, Negotiate, & Negotiate !  ( $20.00 US bought us more then we could smoke in a week !)   With my attitude now fully adjusted it was off to find Delroys and see the famous Nude Pool and Hot Tub.  Standing at the bar, with our 54 oz mugs (which soon became known as the Exxon Valdez I and II) T and I began to chat about how we would recognize our friends from the Web Cam Chats.  As we talked a gentleman stepped up to the bar next to me to order a drink.  As if we had just spoken 5 minutes before, I said Hi S---- to which he casually replied Hi J___. it took us both a second or two before we realized that this was the first time we had met out side of the Chat Room !  Easy as that, we had met our first friends from the Internet !  S and his wife L, took us over to where the rest of our group was, and the party was on !

ACTIVITIES

The nude catamaran cruise is a MUST !  The drinks are cold, the crew and passengers friendly, and Rasta Ralphie is a real character !  We do not suggest jumping off the cliff !  We did, and the butt smack on landing is not something you want to experience (trust us on this one!)  T bit her tongue and her cute little ass was stung pretty good !  It was a BIG TIME courageous thing for her, as she has a fear of heights, and she has bragged about doing it ever since our return.. But it really was not worth the possible injury !

Taking a double raft to float around on was also a great idea.  We enjoyed the mornings floating off the beach soaking up the sun.  Get some snorkel gear from the dive shack and explore the ocean off the beach; there are lots of fish and it was very relaxing.

PJ party was a blast !  I will never forget the three gals (one of them my wife!) dancing on the elevated seats in the disco Girls, you owned the joint !

Toga party was equally fun.  I do suggest making a toga before you go, if for no other reason then to avoid the stress of trying to tie one after 53 dirty bananas!

There are tons of other activities, but you can read about them elsewhere. The descriptions you read are all pretty accurate !

PDAs / Vinnies and Wallies

Ok I know this is the part you first timers have been waiting for !  All I can say is have an open mind.  Will you be exposed to PDA??? I can only tell you that we were sometimes wild and overt. Sometimes mild and covert.  Almost all we saw were at the Pool/Hot tub.  If this kind of thing bothers you I would suggest that you stay on the beach.  Did we experience occasions of sexual advances from strangers?  Yes, but not in any way which was offensive.  Did we experience unwanted touching?  Not directly; we did observe this happen once but when it was made clear to the individual that they were out of line, there were no further problems.  We had no problems with either Vinnies or Wallies there was one rather curious gawker  who was a bit over the line, but seemed to disappear when the sun went down !

AFTER HEDO

There has been a lot of discussion about the effect Hedo has on its visitors and their relationships with one another.  We speak only from our perspective and by no means claim to be experts.  Hedo accentuates everything about your relationship.  If you are strong and communicate well, you will come home from Hedo feeling a stronger bond and will communicate even better.  If you have issues on the way to Hedo, its most likely that you will have issues at or after Hedo.  The VERY BEST Newbie advice we can give is to communicate, verbally, before you get to Hedo.  Talk about where your limits are, what your rules are, what you are and are not comfortable with.   Talk while you are there; if you both agree to change any of your limits or rules while there thats ok.  But make sure you dont let alcohol cloud your judgment and that you will still feel ok with what you did the next day, week or month ! Dont assume anything !  For us, this trip was about being focused on each other.   We met the most special of friends, drank too much, smoked too much, danced too much, stayed up too late and got up too late.  We laughed too much, made love too much, wore too little and were a bit to naughty!  In short, we had the time of our lives!  We came home feeling renewed, refreshed, excited and have never been closer in our 18 years of marriage.  We have been to the mountain, and seen the promised land and it is called HEDO II.
