Jeff & Candy - Date unknown
This was our first trip to Hedonism II.
Candy and I were excited to leave the house. The flight over on Air
Jamaica was great. We did not have any problems. We arrived at Mo
Bay and the heat was not as bad as we anticipated. After going through
customs which was very quick and painless, we walked over to the superclubs
desk. I had informed them that we had reservations with Air link and
they called a representative for us. After a very short and crazy bus
trip to the other side of the airport, (the driver did not know how to drive
stick shift, so he stalled every 10 feet.) We exited at the terminal
where all of the hopper flights are, and I already had to tip 4 people.
Bring a lot of singles because everyone expects a tip. We had heard some
horror stories about the bus trip so we decided to take the hopper flight.
This was the best decision of the entire trip. It was well worth the $230.00.
The flight was only 15 minutes and we arrived in Negril. Another 2
minute taxi ride which cost $5.00 and we were at Hedo.
Check in;
We heard some stories about this however ours was
very quick and the porter gave us a nice tour. Our room was older but
clean and cool. The air conditioner worked and that was most important.
After organizing the room we decided to walk around and tour the place.
The grounds are very rustic but pretty. The new prude pool and slide
were very nice and the gym was among the best that I have seen. The main
dinning hall was open and airy and the prude beach was nice and the water is
beautiful.
Food:
The buffet dining hall was ok. (Mind
you I am a food critic) The food was edible for the most part and breakfast
was the best food of the day. Pastafari's was good and they had the best
desserts. The waiter really tried hard to make it a formal dining
experience. The Japanese place (munhanas) was very good, we ate there
twice. The Jamaican chefs were funny and we had a good time. The
Scotch Bonnet restaurant was good, the atmosphere was very romantic. The
midnight snacks were a much needed time of the night/ morning. Robert's
grill had the best jerk chicken and cheese burgers. Robert was very nice
and a pleasure to talk with.
Activities;
Most of the activities that our brochure listed
either were closed or there was a fee when the brochure said that it was all
included. We were disappointed in the activities. We did play
volley ball everyday and we snorkeled. The theme nights like Toga and
Pajama night were very short. We looked forward to Toga night and it
only lasted 30 minutes and everyone changed. The entertainment staff did
a good job and they were mostly nice with the exception of a few.
Veronicas piano bar was fun.
Negative aspects:
In addition to what I already said above, We did
have some very bad experiences that basically ruined our trip. Our
second day, we decided to stay on the nude side of the beach. It was not
hard to shed the clothes and become nude. We laid out and swam and it was very
relaxing. We did see one PDA right on the beach involving two swingers,
No big deal. The second day, We decided to stay on the prude side of the
beach because that was where the younger crowd was at. We met up two
other couples, Mike and Angie and Steve and Paige. ( Thanks for the warm
welcome) We all decided to go over to the nude side and wait for Robert's
jerk chicken. It was raining like it did every afternoon and everyone
was huddled up under the bar overhang. We were waiting for about 15
minutes and all we wanted was to get our food and leave. Candy had a
thong on and I had my bathing suit. We did not intend to get naked
however, a few of the nudist began to complain because we had our clothes on.
The female security guard came over and asked us to disrobe. I explained that
we did not intend on staying and she insisted. I said no and the guard
grabbed Candy's bathing suit top and she untied it. I warned the guard
to stop and she did. The "pool boy" advised candy to atleast take her
top off and we both said no. The pool boy asked why and I stated that we
would get naked when we were ready to. He told me that we would have to
leave. I said no, I asked him to have management come down and
tell me that I have to leave. After an argument, the pool boy stopped.
This is a clothing optional beach not nude beach, or at least we were
under the impression entire nudity was not a requirement to be a guest and
feel welcomed. We felt like they tried to force us and we refused for
shear principal. The "crew" that complained was very loud and immature.
During Toga night we were asked to get up on stage for the best togo contest
and the nude crew booed us (how mature is that, I guess the did not see us
naked the whole day prior.)
The third day, Candy and I met a very nice couple
Mark and Connie. Candy and I were very bitter about the nude side
because the day before events. We decided to stay on the prude side
because it was couples our age (twenties and thirties) and they were nicer.
Mark, Connie, Candy and I decided to walk to Robert's again. At
this time of day Robert's is the only place to get the best Jerk Chicken.
We all had our suits on. While walking on the beach the same nude crew
yelled out that it was a nude beach. We ignored them and retrieved our
food. On the way back, Candy said hello to a gentlemen she asked him how
he was doing just being polite. The guy said that there was too
many people (meaning us) with clothes on. I smartly replied that there was too
many DICKS walking around and that caused a heated argument between us four
and about twenty of the nudist. We decided to walk away before things
got out of hand.
The nude side of the resort is very judging and
immature. They did ruin our vacation because of the bad things that
happened. The nudist crew that caused all of the problems have
ruined the nudist image for us. We are all adults and we can not figure
out why they were so insecure about couples being nude.
When the nudist were playing volleyball on
the prude beach we never cause a seen, we sat and watched enjoyed the
game. And when "they" so rudely entered into the disco disrobed
that seemed to us as if they were trying to prove some point, to whom
I'm not sure. But we were not impressed with them or their actions.
Entertainment:
The E.T crew did a good job, the shows were
good. However, I do not feel they should fratinzed with the guests
as much as they do. (They live on grounds and eat there) They are
very much involved on and off duty with the guest, good and bad.
Cruise ship staff do not mingle like this, is it a must????
Everytime we walked on the beach, we were
approached by the local drug dealers (not just weed) who were asking us to buy
drugs. This was on the property not just from the ones in the boats ten
feet from shore. It's everywhere!!!!!!!
Hedonism is nothing more than an expensive nudist
colony and we will never return! We were disappointed in every
imaginable way. This was a trip we very much looked forward to and it
was ruined due to the immaturity of grown insecure adults.......
We hope you enjoyed our report I'm sure it's a
different version of most. But there is alway bad with the
good......
