Hedo II June 6 -19
Travel: Not to bore everybody, but as advice to people coming from the West
Coast we wanted to note the following travel experience.
We usually fly to ATL or MIA and spend the night taking the first AJ flight
to Sangster in the morning. We tried this time taking the 10:30 pm AJ flight
out of LAX that arrived at Sangster 6:30 am. DON'T DO IT!!! You won't sleep
and it will take you three days to recover from lack of sleep/jet lag.
Luckily we always have two weeks so three days isn't bad but if you only have
a week you could loose 1/2 the trip. The best bet is to overnight and fly the
short hop from ATL or MIA on AJ in the am we'll be doing that in the future.
Improvements- The improvements are really nice and add a romantic ambiance
that sets the tone for you and your lover (your forever lover or for the
moment lover). The cooling pools with the cascading waterfalls make great
background noise when wanting a break from the loud thump of the club. A
quick dip in these pools will refresh and stimulate you for a few more hours
of dancing. The fact that it is now all clothing optional is great because
you don't have to worry about security hassling you for going in naked. Do be
prepared though for lots of prudies and locals to enjoy your post midnight
cooling pool trips...everybody wants to join the party..could be great
depending on who it is, just be prepared with lots of "no thanks" or the
occasional "sure lets go":)
The waterslide is great nekkid it makes you feel like a kid at the waterpark
a definite must do, drunk or sober. Don't worry the louder you scream the
more you will hear everyone laugh (with you of course not at you:)
Food- The Japanese place is a great time. If you go make reservations early
and wear something light it gets very hot around the grill...or maybe it's
just all the sake effecting my internal thermometer.
Pastafari is still as good as ever and a great slow paced dinner to share
with friends. The Italian selections are satisfying if not totally
authentic...we are in Jamaica mon not Genoa. The red wine in Pastafari is
better than the bar if you enjoy your red wine as Kelli does.
Scotch Bonnet is very romantic authentic Jamaican cuisine served by a
friendly wait staff. Lots of curry dishes mutton, conch, and fish. I think
it's my favorite place to dine, although that could be because I had a
wonderful meal accompanied by the queen I am lucky enough to be married to in
superb dim candlelight. A truly fantastic meal and a precious moment in time
for just us two.
Buffet As they say everything changes & nothing changes. The buffet is the
buffet. I would think anyone could find something to satisfy themselves here.
Whether it is Turkey night with cream puffs....Protein Protein Protein...or
veggie delights (you all know who you are) I tend to think of it as fuel to
keep me going into the wee hours of the club, not much else. Breakfast This is My Meal, Charlie is great and his eggs any way you like 'em
attitude is fantastic. Do you know his family has a little restaurant across
the street from the resort?
Nude Bar/Pool-We have determined that there are two types of nudies, Pool
people and Beach people. It is very important that the two do not mingle and
or cross breed. You will find pool people laughing, drinking, dancing,
playing pool games and having a raucous good time all day and well into the
night. You can tell beach people because they are on lounge chairs looking up
into the sky for hours on end as if waiting for the next Tim Air flight to
pass overhead. Beach people occasionally drift off into this meditative
state...what do they call it...oh ya sleep. Do not disturb beach people as
they are perfecting this hard won mental state. JUST A JOKE PLEASE DON'T SEND
ME NASTY E-MAILS
(unless you think I will be turned on)
Music was hit and miss at the pool but Scumba would change it after much
proding from my wife. Delroy and Scumba still provide excellent service. I
have noticed that the guests are becoming more vocal and demanding requesting
service at the bar. I witnessed on guest banging her glass on the counter dema nding a drink.
I wish more guests would be jerks like this because then while you are being
ignored it will be so much quicker for respectful guys like me to get our
drinks.
Rooms- The only complaint and it was a fairly big deal was that our AC did
not work. After 10 days and four visits by maintenance we finally got to
switch rooms. It really put a damper on things and kind of made us tired a
lot because it was so hot and muggy. You should have seen the puddles of
sweat if you got more than three people in that room :) As a friend said it
made for a lot of "away games".
General- Lots of fantastic Hedo memories that can only be made at Hedo. Lots
of Hedo moments to remember forever, penthouse letters has not a damn thing
on us.
I left as usual more in love with my wife than ever. Remembering why I love
and respect her and the fantastic, beautiful, sexy woman she is. I left there remembering my deep regard and respect for the people of Jamaica
on and off the resort and their regard for things individual that many of us
have lost in the everyday shuffle of home. I left there sad that we will not
return until January but thankful we get to come back then. Thank you deeply to all who added to our trip. You know who you are and you
know you have touched us in ways that are very special. As you know some
moments are irreplaceable moments of a lifetime.
See you in January & counting the years 'till we can truly become Jamerican
