Hedo II 3-10 Feb 02 A single guys third trip
Ok, I must say that I was a little concerned about this trip, with all the reports of the construction and the resort being only half full. Thankfully, these proved not to be problems during my stay. This was my third trip, and second trip the same time of year (I was at Hedo II 4-11 Feb 01). I chose to come back the same time this year for 2 reasons; 1. I met many fun people last year and wanted to hang out with them again, and 2. It was the second annual Yahoo Singles trip (http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/singlesathedonism).
I began my journey by taking Timair for the first time instead of the dreaded bus ride. The flight was quick and smooth, making it to Hedo less than a half hour from the time I checked in at the Superclubs desk at the airport. Check-in was smooth; the only exception was that they said they were overbooked on the nude side, so I wound up with a prude ocean view room. I think if I made a fuss like others I saw doing during the week I could have gotten a room on the nude side, but I just wanted to get my stuff in my room and get naked!
The rest of the week was somewhat of a blurjust glad to be back home and seeing old friends, making new friends, and forgetting about real life for a while. Typical day: wake up way too early (am I the only one who has a hard time sleeping at Hedo?); a ham omelet and chatting with people for breakfast; lay on the nude beach; watch water aerobics; have some lunch; relax in the nude pool; hot tub before dinner; dinner; piano bar; disco; hot tub; and off to sleep around 3am to start all over again. Some of the highlightswatching Steve and Tammy from Chicago renew their wedding vowscompeting in the fake orgasm contest to defend my title from last year and losing! (I was robbed! LOL)going horseback ridingbeing Kamas personal assistant the day before her and Tims weddingdancing with Anne from Canadaattending my first returnees party (the food was good, a couple on their 16th visit wonI have a long way to go)making up a rule about the grotto, and people actually following the rule!watching Hill from Boston get hit on by everyonedancing with Bobbie from Idahogiving the prudes something to tell their friends about when some of us nudies invaded their tub (the nude tub was being re-filled and it was getting chilly)watching Barbara from New Jersey tell a really drunk/high guy that tipping is not allowed at hedolistening to Bec complain about her original roommate before she moved in with Hillhaving a drunk Tammy from Tenn compare me to her husbandand the list goes on. Sorry to anyone I did not mention, and sorry to anyone I did mention!
Most of the improvements were complete, only a few finishing touches on things still were being worked on. I heard many people, including myself, wonder if Hedo was moving away from the nude visitors as all the new stuff was on the prude side. But I am sure people said the similar things when they put in the nude swim up bar and grill. I have no doubt that in another couple of years they will make more improvements on the nude side as welllets seemaybe dredge the nude beach of all the rocks and put in a few more tons of sand, or a temperature control for the nude hot tub that works, or heating the cool tub at night, or bring back the red stripe tap that flowed 24 hrs, or keep the nude bar open as long as the disco bar, etc
The only low points of the week were few and far between. Not enough wait staff in the dining roomsometimes I was done with a meal before I got any water to drink. Not enough cups at the bars and the self-serve soda fountains, they were always running out. For some reason they removed the self-serve soda fountain at the main barwould have saved me waiting a few times. Could have used a few more bartenders at any given timemany resorted to ordering multiple drinks to prevent waiting again. Get a temperature gauge for the nude hot tub! Often it was too hot. Other guests and I resorted to finding the water heaters and turning them down or off so that it would be at a bearable temp later on.
All in all, another wonderful trip. Next time I think I will try to go for 10 days, same time of year. From what I have heard, the first full week of February is just right for me. prior to that it is mainly lifestylers and after that it is mainly couples on the romantic valentines getaway. Yes, I had a great time again as a single, but as I say every time, I hope next time to come back with a companionbut not having a companion will not stop me from returning!
