Hedo Trip

10/17/2002-10/25/2002

Rookie trip (sounded more pc than virgin trip J)

(This report will have some comparisons with the GLN-it is my report and that is the way I wanted to write it. Before we ever went to Jamaica we had a difficult time deciding where to go; maybe this will help someone else with the same problem)

WOW!!

TOTO WE ARE NOT IN KANSAS ANYMORE

This was our second trip to Jamaica; we had gone to the GLN at the end of June and DIF was so bad we had to return. The GLN trip was our first foray into a nude vacation and it was great. After visiting this board (daily) for many months we thought we were ready for Hedo. We chose II over III because of the beach-we are both total beach bums.

Before getting to Hedo: Stayed up too late, for some reason we were really keyed up for this experience. Took the same flights as the trip before-only complaint was that it seemed to take forever to get home.  Customs was very quick (learned our lesson last time about school supplies), grabbed a couple of Red Stripes jumped on the bus and off we go. Two other couples with us, they were both going to GLN and wanted to hear about our trip in June and what we expected at Hedo. Ride took just over an hour and was a non-event-the Bus Ride From Hell is no more.

Arrival: It was pouring rain so it was a little crowded between the people arriving and the people leaving. I had worn my Sponge Bob Nudie Pants t-shirt and got lots of nice comments-it was a great way to start getting to know everybody. Check in went fine, it would have been nice to have a place to sit down to fill it out the paper work but we managed (ok DeeDee managed). Fast but not as efficient as GLN, got a beachfront room on the textile side-we didnt have the extra $$$ to pay for the nude area. Room was as we expected-homework paid off again. Grabbed our 32 oz. Mugs and headed out for a walk about. I guess we must have had the look of a deer caught in the headlights because everybody seemed to be able to tell we were new, got approached at least 15 times by sellers of the local herbage. Made a purchase, went back to the room and promptly partook-it was as good as we remembered J.

Resort: The grounds are very well kept up, beach is always clean there is no trash lying around, pools are clean, hot tub is clean (not a job I would want cleaning), trapeze looked in good shape but I never saw it used, dive boat is GREAT (much nicer than the one at GLN), loved the foliage-much more mature than GLN, everybody that worked there was exceptionally friendly- I really loved the overall appearance and quality of the outside areas-in fact I would definitely give these areas at least a 5 star rating they were nicer than the GLN!. The entrance was nice, the common eating area was ok-they could have cleaned the tables faster on busy night (several times we had a hard time finding a place to sit and eat), the pool tables and ping pong tables were in good shape (and being used quite often), never saw anyone use the pool tables covered in astro turf, basketball court was small but I wasnt going there to play ball (at least not that kind J), even played chess a couple of times, rooms were in fair shape-they could use some up-dating, bathroom was clean, water pressure was excellent and it was a fun game trying to dodge the water when the temperature decided to make an ABRUPT change, loved the mirror on the ceiling. Overall these areas of Hedo (all things considered) score the same as the GLN; between 4 and 5 star.

Food: This is the area that needs the most improvement, I know it has been beat to death on the boards but we would have liked a better selection and higher quality for lunch and dinner. We ate dinner from the buffet on Friday night and did not go back to it for the rest of the trip (we did look each night at what they were offering). No seats, lukewarm to cold food, almost no selection that interested us.  Italian restaurant was excellent! We had a great time eating there with our new friends (cant believe that an unnamed member of our new family took a picture under the table and went around that place saying we had lost this pussy and wondered if they had seen it J). Japanese place was ok; funny to watch Jamaicans try to be oriental! Scotch Bonnet was our favorite place to eat-- very very good. Breakfast was the best meal from the buffet-eggs any way you wanted them, lots of bacon, great coffee (to chase off the cob webs from the night before), pancakes, fresh fruits, cheese-we pigged out every morning. Roberts grill is where we ate the rest of the time; wonderful grilled cheese, grilled turkey and cheese, grilled ham and cheese, FANTASTIC fries, and the jerk chicken was the best I have ever had. We didnt go for the food, we had read all the posts we could, ask all the questions we could think of but we were still disappointed in this area. From what I have read this is the worst Superclubs resort in relation to food and dining; it would not take much to improve the buffets. GLN wins hands down: Hedo gets 4 stars rating but ONLY because the buffets were so poor.

Beach: This is the reason we went to II over III. Every morning got down early and scoped out our chairs, made the mistake the first day and didnt get in the shade-learned our lesson and from then on if we werent in the ocean we were relaxing under the trees. Augustus took great care of HIS beach-DO NOT DROP A CIG. BUTT or you will receive the wrath of Augustus (all in good fun). They could use a little more sand in the water-I got stuck by a sea urchin years ago and have been paranoid about them ever since, GLN had the same problem. They were trucking in some sand on the day before we left so this may be cured already. We only got in the pools once (during the day) but they nice-just a little cool. Sand gravity is worse here than across the street; it seemed to draw us in and hold us until dark J (or at least until the afternoon rain storm). Plenty of chairs, lots of floats people had left behind, great drinks if you brought a large cup (I could suck down one of their glasses in two sips). Even the clothing optional beach was nice (had to walk past it each morning), clean and well kept up. Hedo wins the beach battle-much larger; 5 stars.

Party and People: This is where Hedo really dwarfs any competition from anywhere. This must be the best place on the earth to have fun and let go. We planned the trip to be at the end of Lifestyles and right before Halloween, we got to see the Lifestyles group the weekend we arrived and the Halloween group the weekend we left. As a first trip we were trying to ease our way into the Hedo Atmosphere. We went for a walk just after dark, as we passed the bar at the bottom of the stairs two girls were on the bar putting on a show J, how she got her ankles behind her head was quite a sight! I looked at DeeDee and her eyes were as big a plates-quite an indoctrination for us newbies. The first night we were there was a Friday and DeeDee was real worried about her lack of outfits after seeing what was being worn at dinner. The women were decked out in slut wear and FMPs and looked absolutely gorgeous-for some reason I didnt see any males around-cant be that my eyes were elsewhere. The rest of the week the dress wasnt as extreme-we think the Lifestyles group wanted one last show before they had to leave. Great beach fun! From the games the ECs setup to the games people played it was a non-stop blast. I want to learn how to make a water balloon launcher that was used when a boat would cruise slowly past our beach area. People were the best, one couple recognized DeeDee from her hat (or at least that was their story J), we met and partied and hung out (literally) with three other couples and it was great. Before PJ night we went to the Italian restaurant and had champagne, DeeDee had to inform our group the champagne doesnt affect me as she stumbled up on stage for Battle of the Sexes. She got to trade clothes with Mike (one of our group); I have never seen her get out of her dress that fast! Was a slinky little silver number that she looks very hot in and Mike put it on like he was very experienced in putting on womens dresses? He pranced around stage as we laughed our heads off, I will never be able to look at her in that dress without remembering Mike in it L. Later that night at the disco she danced until 3:30, if she couldnt find a male she just grabbed a woman, She won the most reveling outfit and it was a good thing we took pictures because she doesnt remember much (except for the nude pool later J-its was show time folks). Toga night was our last night L, so we went out with a bang (even though I was getting the Hedo crud). No sheet No eat was not enforced at all, ate at the Jap. Restaurant and got a buzz on Sake, then off to a group photo in the game room, then we felt compelled to dance around Daves piano as he sung hedonismville only thing was is we left our togas in the other room!! We got the standard Hedo send off by our friends; it was a full moon as we sadly drove off for the airport. Hedo scores an 8 on a scale of 1-5 for party J, (GLN got a 2)

PDAs and PDPs: Only once did we see what would qualify as a PDP, PDAs were common and appreciated (even sometimes judged J). One couple (we called Buster and Babbs) showed us just how much a raft made for two could handle! We looked forward every afternoon for their show. The displays were discreet and never became a in your face intrusion. They occurred during the day and were much more prevalent at night around the nude pool and hot tub. As nubies we kept (most) of our displays in the mirror but hopefully this will change on our next trip. We were never bothered with unapproved touching and never approached by anyone to share or swap.

Survey Says: Of the two resorts, GLN and Hedo, Hedo wins hands down-it is the one to go to if you are up to a wild fun vacation. It may take a day or two to become acclimated to the atmosphere; be aware that the mixture of sun, nudity, and alcohol make for a very sexually charged time. You do need to be confident in your relationship and discuss boundaries before you go; I believe we are closer now than we have ever been in our 14 years of marriage. After the first day we werent sure of which resort we enjoyed more but as we became more comfortable it became a no-brainer; Hedo IS where we will be retuning to this summer. Many thanks to the couples we met and hung out with-YOU made the trip fantastic!

(It is amazing how long this became especially when I think of all the things I didnt include. Did anybody actually take the time to read all of this?)

Any hints from anyone of curing DIF? We bought Daves cd, we play it in our hot tub, drink pineapple and coconut rum, talk about our experience but a day does not go by that either DeeDee or I look at the other and say I WANT TO BE BACK!! We are planning a return trip in June or August and it seems like forever till then.

This was our BEST vacation ever! We want to thank everybody on the DennyP board for addressing all of our questions and concerns.

If anyone has any questions or concerns about a newbies experience a Hedo or how it compares to the GLN, feel free to e-mail us!
