Tim & Donna - 03/01

Trip Report Mar 6-11, 2001

Here is is FINALLY!

It has taken over a month for me to put this into words. First a big thank you to Dennyp for the website. It was a great asset to us "Hedo Virgins". And to Mike and Zan for helping us "meet up" with some of our Hedo friends before we got there.

We arrived Tues. March 6th. The bloodymary's at the Atlanta airport that a.m. helped us set the mood for the rest of the week. It only got better! The bus ride. You have to take it, at least the first time. If it wasn't for this ride, we wouldn't have met our first "Hedo friends", Paula & Will, Deb & Dave. What great people they were we found out. We spent the rest of the week with them.

We both have to admit, the thought of dropping our clothes in front of strangers was a little scary.....until you arrive. It was even more difficult to put them back on when it was time to go home! Nothing to hide friends....this is what we are, no secrets, no pretending as we often find ourselves doing in the 'real world". Met up with Dave & Donna who we had corresponded with for about 4 months thanks to Dennyp web site. We found out that strangers make great vacationers. We are ready to go again with our group, Dave, Donna, Dave, Deb, Paula & Will! They made Hedo II not only a great vacation, but a real adventure!

Tuesday nite, we enjoyed the PJ party. Some say Tim would have won if we would have stayed for the "leather judging". The g-string with handcuffs must have been a hit as someone ran off with them at the hot tub later that night! We had a great time.

Wednesday, well I think I forgot to leave the key with the hubby before I passed out that night as many found out! It was a great day.

Thursday. Tim won some rum in the ring toss, I didn't lose in the best bust contest! Met some more great people. Rick's Cafe was worth the trip, even though spring breakers needed an old fart to show them how to do the wet t-shirt contest. Well ,Tim, he is the best Hoseman Rick's Cafe has had I am sure. He sure kept me good and wet. Right Daves, Donna, Paul, Will! What a day and night. Hot tub again. What a way to end the day.

Friday. Well, this was my day as Tina Turners sidekick. I haven't got a recording contract, but I think a few may remember my audition of her greatest hits in the piano bar. Met some more great people. Hot tub again. We really love Hedo by this time!

Saturday. Lobster Shack. What an adventure. Well worth the trip, even with a hangover. This was my reality check. Funny how we all live in such a fast world, take so much for granted. The people of Jamaica are real. They live much more simply than we ever could. It's easy to envy them. We are all too materialistic.

Sunday. Time to say good bye to some great friends. Goodbye for now only, as we decided we have to do this again together. We are working on that.

In a nutshell: It doesn't take much to please either Tim or I. The food kept us full; The booze kept us happy (as well as a few other things); the people we met, well they kept us believing in what is real. We are all the same if we let ourselves be. In Hedo, there doesn't have to be any pretending or masks. You are who you are. That is what makes this place different. No one cares, just be you. Thats ok.

There were things we would like to see different and improved, there always is whereever you go. But we were happy while we were there. Life is but a dream.... not in Hedo. We will return, it just won't be soon enough. Yo mon, it is worth the trip. Tim/Donna
