Trip Report(Hedo II May 26 to June 2)

OK the basic layout of my report will be a day-by-day rundown and then Ill address a few specific areas that I think are worth singling out.  This is liable to be pretty lengthy but I want to be thorough.

Friday

We left home For Miami on Delta.  We scheduled to spend a night in Miami to prevent problems with flight delays from stopping us from making it to Jamaica.  Also as a side note.  Booking the legs of the flight separately actually ended up saving us about 50 dollars each. The flight was uneventful and we stayed in a Holiday Inn Express (which I am told means I could have performed open heart surgery.)

Saturday

Our 1020 AM AJ flight is cancelled we are booked on the 200 PM flight through Kingston.  MAJOR pain in the arse here.  We froze to death for several hours in the Miami airport.  Our AJ flight left about and hour late and we finally were on our way. ( I did notice that when they tried to start the engines on our plane it sounded like a beat up old pinto cranking for a while before the engines would catch and kick in(this is NO exaggeration).  The stopover in Kingston was fairly quick and no major inconvenience.  Customs and immigration was a breeze.  We were through we were of the plane, had our luggage, and at the Superclubs desk in less than 20 minutes.  Then it was 5 minutes until we were on the bus and on our way.  I want to point something out here.  Although the roads were bad in spots (an maybe this is cause I am an old country boy) overall they didnt seem that bad.  We arrived at Hedo at about 7PM and I have some major Kudos to give hereand when I say major I mean MAJOR.   Thank you Kenny and Joe and Diane.  Many people were being bumped and due to our Hedo-online affiliation we were taken aside and told we would have a room shortly.  15 minutes later we had our keys and were on our way to the room.

Our first hour or two were a bit uncomfortable as we couldnt seem to locate anyone we had met online.  So we ate dinner and roamed the property for a bit trying to get our bearings.   After Dinner we stumbled across Veronicas and ultimately across our friends.  With there help the night turned and we were having a wonderful time.  Mary had a few Long Islands and we were invited to see first hand for ourselves the famed Sybian.  Then we moved to the nude pool/hot tub area.  The combined encouragement of our friends prompted Mary to go ahead and make the leap that night.  WE went to bed at about 2 AM.

Sunday

Got up early, had breakfast and had our floats inflated to float on the ocean and do some snorkeling.  To be so close to shore this nude area was great for simple snorkeling.  I found starfish and all kinds of crustaceans and fish and such. Then we went to the Nude pool hot tub and hung out with friends, most of the day.  Mary got a foot rub from Alan (from Allentown, and let me tell ya, that guy sets the bar way to high on performance for we mere mortals.  Mary was in heaven. Finally got to see Chicken Oclock. The Jerk chicken is all that the rumors said it was and more.  My mouth waters now just thinking about it. We had Dinner at The Scotch Bonnet (see restaurants below for my review).  And went back to the Hot tub till 2 or so.

Monday

Up a little later today, the pace is wearing on us.  WE still made breakfast and Georges fabulous Omelets. Mary entered the Wet T-shirt contest with some help from our friends.  They plied her with dirty bananas with floaters from about 1130 to 1 to give her courage.  And, they were all there to cheer her on. She didnt win and we think she got jipped on the set aside fun(she wanted to have chocolate licked off of her and got stuck with some cheesy skit thing instead).  She did well though and had a great Time with it all. Best part was all the Hedo Bucks she won.  In the evening, Mary and I had dinner alone at Pastafaris(see below for review).  Then we went to the Piano Bar and listened to Alan from Allentown and Debbie from Orlando sing some karaoke.  Man, can those to sing.  They were both awesome.  Back to the hot tub again till around 230.

Tuesday

We did the nude Cat cruise to the pickled parrot.  It was a lot of fun.  While snorkeling I found an eel in a rock and that was neat.  We swam to the caves and didnt jump off the cliff (Mary couldnt with her contacts and Hey I know Im a wussI dont need a cliff to prove it).  Mary beat Rasta Ralphie at Limbo. And we rode in the basket on the way back.  It was really great to snuggle there and get splashed.  PJ Night was tonight.  We one second place for most funky with our PJ costumes that they dubbed Doctor and Nurse.  We had a really great time this night.  The disco was playing music we recognized and so we were able to dance and party and get a little freaky on the dance floor.  Mary found a single guy who was ripped like Jesus and was dancing raunchy with him while leaning against me.  She was somewhat embarrassed after dancing when she told him that he was Eye Candy and realized that he spoke only broken English and had no idea what she was talking about.  After dancing at the Disco, It was off to the Hot tub for some friends, fun, and a Grotto adventure for Mary and I, as well as some fun with the water jets in the misting pool.  3 AM Bedtime tonight.

Wednesday

This day was kinda blurry.  I know Mary tried the trapeze and couldnt do it cause she is so short and couldnt reach the bar.  Oytther than that we played Naked Twister (Lots of fun) and kinda just hung around with friends relaxing.  We did also find one of the hidden Hammocks.  This made for some fun private cuddling.

Thursday

It rained from like 11 am on today (and I mean poured). We alternated between napping in our room, hanging out in the Hot tub with friends, and cuddling in our Hammock.  Mary participated as a model for the Toga tying demonstration.  Boy she sure can look HOT.  One thing to note here:  No one ever delivered any toga sheets for us to use.  Luckily we had brought our own material for an American flag motif and it went ok. The Toga party was fun but actually not as fun as the PJ party.  We quickly changed after the contest was over into slut wear and went back to the disco and then to the Hot tub.

Friday

Our last full day at Hedo.  We got our eviction Notice.  Boy is that depressing.  We tried some water-skiing and gave up on the sun block.  We figured we would go home with a tan or sunburn.  Either way, it would look like we were on the beach.  We ended up getting the burn part down.  We took some pictures with all our friends and started saying our goodbyes.  We went to the Hot tub for a while but turned in early (1 or so) as Mary wasnt feeling well.

Saturday

The Dreaded Eviction Day.  Up, Packed, spent our Hedo bucks, said our goodbyes.  A busride to the airport.  Shopping at the airport (see below).  And some nachos and Margaritas at Margaritaville then on the plane and away.

Food

Pastafaris (****) We loved this.  Elegant dining, fine food in huge portions, and a fabulous atmosphere.  The food was superb and the whole place served to accentuate the romantic mood I was in towards Mary.  Some people had told us the service was slow but I didnt notice that.  It seemed as fast as any elegant Italian restaurant locally here.

Scotch Bonnet (*)I wasnt impressed.  Its not actually a real restaurant.  Its just some tables set up by the Prude pool and served out of a plywood kitchen.  The portions were small and service was slow.

Roberts (****) ungh! The Cheeseburgers!  The grilled cheese!  The Fries! The Meat patties! The Jerk Chicken!  I cannot say enough about how great this was. I took Ketchup along because of the reports on the web and I never opened it.  The food was to good to worry about it.

Prude grill (***) Pretty good.  We only ate here late one evening once and the food was good.

Main Dining (***) I really liked this.  The deserts were great.  Again George(?)s Omlets in the Morning were Great. The meat choices were usually pretty good.  There were some times when I didnt care for the veggie choices but over all the food was very good with plenty of choices. And hey, they had soft serve ice-cream (so Im easy to please).

Rooms, Facilities, and Service

We stayed in room 2241, and we will request it when we go back.  Nice view from the window of a wooded area near the Aviary and it was sort of Midway to everything or at least it seemed so.  There were a couple of days where we didnt get washrags or our fresh towels didnt come till the evening, but thats just small stuff.  Our service staff was always friendly and helpful.  With all the complaints I heard about the rooms being awful we were kind of worried.  However, I thought the rooms were fantastic.  They were clean, pretty, well cooled, and well just really nice in my opinion.  On a funny note, I would like to point out that the ceiling mirrors on my side of the bed were warped like in a carnival funhouse and made for a rather scary image.

We Heard lots about the funk in the hot tub at night.  I agree with the sunscreen faction.  I think thats all it was.  Blind hope? Maybe.  Do I care? Nope.  It was a blast.  Heard a lot of talk about going to completion in the Pool/ Hotub, and how you shouldnt.  My question is if you get out on the side, finish, then get back in doesnt it all end up in the same place either way?

Now, One special note on service.  Many of you know Mary as Mary wit da Coconuts from her picture on Kennys site.   Well I asked this guy on the Grounds crew for a couple of coconuts (so Mary could live up to her name).  He said hed be right Back.  About 30 minutes later he returned with two of the biggest coconuts you ever saw.  He offered to crack em for us and I declined and he handed them to me and disappeared.  I never even got to say thanks.  This to me was indicative of the service we received at Hedo.  No matter how odd the request, if they could accommodate, they did.

Shopping

OK.  Hedo Bucks are great. We got our Liquor that way.  WE bought some small stuff from the vendors on the prude beach.  Went across the street and down to the craft Market.  Prices were high and sales people were pushy.  WE did find one thing though that stuck out and I wanted to pass on.  ALL, and I stress ALL souvenirs carvings, you name it were cheaper at the airport on the way back.  Everything we bought at the craft market or on the beach was the same price or cheaper at the airport.  For example, a small woven bag was quoted at $12 at the craft market and $5 at the airport.  Even if you talk the crafter down to price its still cheaper at the airport.  Now I will say that some of the hand carvings by the true artists on the beach could not be found at the airport.

Phoning Home

We called about making a collect call.  It was $40 for the first 5 minutes and $5 each additional minute.  However you can leave a cash deposit of $60 at the front desk and dial through the Hedo operator for $1.60 per minute.  This seemed like a good deal and easier than dialing all the numbers for a calling card.

Vinnies and Single Guys

We didnt See ANY Vinnies our whole trip.  No Wallies either.  We heard complaints from people sitting right next to us but we hadnt seen anything out of sorts happen.  I do however have to say something about the treatment of MANY single guys.  Having followed the threads where single guys who felt snubbed were told they had approached it wrong or were weird or something, I have to defend them now.  I saw many polite friendly and outgoing guys snubbed for no apparent reason other than the fact they were single.  Greg was a guy we met our first night who was very friendly and very fun to talk to.  He put up with a lot of teasing both funny and sexual and kept a fun and light-hearted attitude.  He was always respectful to Mary and I, never clingy or pushy and we tried to welcome him when we saw him.  However MANY people snubbed him along with other singles.  In fact I saw very few single guys welcomed by couples period.  There were of course exceptions:  Alan from Allentown was one blazing exception.  He was welcome most anywhere( I think it was the foot massages*wink*).  I just thought that too many couples were actively snubbing singles.

The People

Our friends, Oh there were so many.  Beth and Kenneth, Jeff and Lynne, Chad and Rita, Tommy and Elissa,  Debbie and Ron, Jesus and Yvette, Jenny and  Ray, Steve and  Paige, Greg and Angela, Alan from Allentown,  Greg, Kevin,  Joe and Diane (and their sybian), Mike and Susan.  Thank you all for making us feel so welcome and making this the vacation of a lifetime.

Will we come back?

OH lord Yes. I am dreaming of it already.  I truly miss the people as much as the place.  I want to go back so bad it aches.  We have now come out of the Hedo closet.  We told everyone where we were.  And many want to go now after hearing our stories.
