We went through an obstacle course to get to Hedo - we drove 8 hours from Orlando to Atlanta (after the last day of school let out) to drop the kids off at the grandparents - got into Atlanta at 10:30 pm. Our flight from Atlanta left at 7:15 am - with a 1 hour MARTA train ride to get to the airport - we got up at 3:15 am to make a 4:45 train to get to the airport 2 hours before our flight. Did we sleep on the plane? Yeah mon. We flew Air Jamaica - too bad we were asleep when they were passing out free Red Stripe.
We got home at by 10 am - they had our room ready within 45 minutes (amazing!) While we were waiting, I (debby) got my hair braided on the beach. We were pretty wiped out so we crashed in the room before dinner. We got there on Thursday (toga night) but went to bed early (still wiped out).
The next day we started the day by reading our books in the hammock on the naked beach - it seems boring, I know, but to lay naked with your favorite person on a hammock with a good book and a wonderful breeze blowing (not to mention occasional action on the beach or in the water to remind us of where we are) was a dream come true - Ross actually got a boner because he was so happy - the usual laws of sexual physics don't apply at Hedo - just about anything can get us horny.
That afternoon I got a chance to fulfill a girl-girl fantasy of mine with a wonderful woman named Teena (and my friend Amy from last year) - quite the mind-blower for me! We also hooked up with our friends from last Hedo trip - it was a wonderful reunion.
The rest of the week was a bit of a blur - I do remember going to the "unoffical" PJ night (they had one on Sunday) in our costumes and being the only ones dressed, plus they were playing that house music crap (which doesn't work for us disco-craving baby boomers) so we stripped and went to the hot tub. However we had agreed to meet some of our friends at the disco so at Ross' suggestion, we just walked over from the hot tub naked to the pj party (if anyone asked we told them we were wearing what we sleep in). I did grab a couple of those big palm leaves just in case we needed a costume but no one stopped us (although the vinnies kept pointing to Ross like "Hey man, did you know that your dick is hanging out?" Let me tell you they cleared a path when we walked into the disco - nothing like being naked in a room full of prudes to get some elbow room).
Several night I did a few songs and a strip tease in Veronica's (you KNOW how persuasive Dave can be). On karaoke night Alan from Allentown and I got to do a few duets together (including "Summer Lovin" from Grease). Oh my God, what a blast! There is something about standing up with a mike in front of a group of friendly strangers that is just awesome! I actually got to do "Bohemian Rhapsody" in front of an audience - I mean, how many times have you done that alone in the front seat of your Gremlin? Party Time!Excellent! WooWooWoo!
We met a lot of great people and had an awesome vacation - even though we didn't win on the official PJ night (check out those costumes - don't you think we should have at least placed?) and we are planning our next trip for early January - we'd love to hear from anyone who will be there the first or second week in January - also anyone from the Orlando area - I'll be the first to 'fess up that we are unrequited Hedonists always looking for fellow sufferers!
