Rich & Florangel - 09/01

Rich & Florangel - 9/3 through 9/10 - Trip #7

This was our 7th trip and this is going to be my first trip report.  Just so you know, this trip report isn't going to be very organized and I'll often shift gears, but this is what I remember:  I'll start this by saying that we've been married almost 8 years now and my lovely wife has given birth to two little boys in the last 20 months.  Needless to say she needed this trip way more than I did.  I'm sure most of you know it's not easy chasing after two little ones.  So it was nice for her to sleep...not that she did much of that either...but just to let go and have a good time.  With that said...here it goes:

We actually arrived in MoBay a half hour early.  Landed at 10 a.m. and we were checking in at the Hedo front desk by 11 a.m.  This was the fastest we'd ever gotten to Hedo.  Everything went pretty smooth.   We went to our room which I believe was 2134.  I could be wrong.  I never could remember our room number.  Florangel thinks I'm crazy...but I had to ask her several times during our stay what our room number was.  I know Tom & Joanne were a couple of doors away...Tara & Mark were upstairs and Nick & Robin were upstairs across the way.  Anyway...we couldn't wait to "light up"...so we stocked up on a little "stuff".  I think this is going to get fuzzier and fuzzier as the days go on...but I'll try to remember what happened when.

Florangel wanted to head over to Delroy's and see if we'd see anyone we talked to on-line.  We exchanged pictures with quite a few people before this trip.  It was really nice talking to people before the trip as opposed to meeting everyone at Hedo.  We bumped into Jamie & Nathan on the beach from Minnesota...oh, no, that's right, Wisconsin.  Took me a couple of times to remember that one.

A few rum and cokes later I was tapped on my shoulder by this beautiful woman...it's Robin.  We had spoke one night on-line for about 45 minutes talking about Hedo.  This was Robin & Nick's first trip to Hedo and by the end of the week you'd think it was their 10th trip!!  They had a blast and let go for a week as they say.

Few more rum and cokes and things are even blurrier than before...so I slow down on the rum and cokes.  Florangel pretty much was sticking to water and other stuff.  We had an "appointment" at 5 p.m. to go with a friend of ours that works at Hedo for a ride to his house.  We were going to his house to get some more "stuff" for the rest of the week.  We've gone to his house before with his brother on our first trip in '97.  It's nice to see where he lives and the countryside on the way to his house.  He gave us two fat joints to light up for the ride.  That was really nice...riding in a car in Jamaica with two fatties...even though I don't like joints myself...it was still something I'd never do back home...at least not without being paranoid about it.  The ride was scary at times.  He was going like 100 kilometers...which I'm not sure what that is in miles per hour...but it was raining.  I just kept thinking he does this every day and we got back in one piece around 6:45 p.m. I think.

From what I remember the rest of the trip was basically spent laying around the hot tub or the beach and lighting up here and there.  We were supposed to do both boat trips, but we thought it would rain.  There was more rain on this trip than any others that I can remember.  Monday it rained from 4 to 6 in the afternoon.  I didn't let it bother me too much.  Towels were scarce most days.  Every now and then they'd bring some out.  Augustus was always kind enough to go wherever they were and bring us two towels.  I remember maybe on day 2 we got in on a pool board game initiated by Con & Lyn I believe.  We played for a little while.  It was a lot of fun.  We had never done that before...but you should give it a try.

We eventually bumped into a lot of the DennyP folks.  I believe Tuesday or Wednesday we went to Eric and Karen's wedding with about 30 others.  It was very nice and I must say I had tears rolling for a little bit.  It stopped raining just in time for the wedding.

There was body painting I believe on Tuesday...maybe Wednesday...the days sort of flow together as we all know.  Tracy painted Florangel and I believe vice versa.  We'd never participated in the body painting.  Florangel enjoyed it.  I "think" Tracy did too, but I'm not too sure.

Most nights I tried staying up as late as possible.  I don't remember which night it was...might have been Tuesday or Wednesday...it was about 4 a.m. and there was no one around visible.  I'm sure there were a lot of parties going on in closed rooms...but Florangel was knocked out in the room so I decided to walk the beach naked.  I got all the way to the prude side and found 2 guys sitting on the beach chairs.  These guys looked like they were in a band or something.  They were pretty cool guys.  One of them had a goatee that was about I'd say a foot long.  We smoked a little and talked for a bit.  Then I was on my way to the room.  Friday night I bumped into Marc from the Bronx.  I'm so glad I met Marc.  He had me pretty entertained with his stories about going to a club with a couple of other guys and it got pretty ugly on a beach somewhere in Negril...one of the guys he was with got robbed of his wood carvings and somewhat worked over by some local Jamaican thugs.  So pretty much our trip was get up...go and try to eat a little something.  For some reason this trip I wasn't very hungry.  Then we'd go to the beach for a bit...then to the pool for a bit...back to the room for a bit...maybe have a little fun there...then do it all over again.

We did do the Italian restaurant on Sunday night with Jamie & Nathan.  It was pretty good.  Like I said...I had no complaints about the food.  The construction was an eye sore...but a necessary evil I guess.  Next time we go back hopefully it'll be all done.

As far as sex in the hot tub:  I was usually at the nude jacuzzi around 1 to 3 a.m. on most nights during this trip.  I saw almost nothing going on in the hot tub.  I don't know if everyone was just going straight to the rooms or what...although I did hear of a couple of private parties going on.  I won't mention any names.

I always told myself if I ever wrote a trip report I wouldn't name every single person I could remember...because I usually don't remember too many names...but thanks to all of these beautiful people that we met on this trip that made our vacation that much nicer:  Jamie & Nathan, Nick & Robin, Tonyinajacuzzi, Jimmy & Tracy, Laura, Tom & Joanne, Eric & Karen, Jan & Allison, Sunshine, Lasona, Benita, Jacinda, Mark & Tara, Marc from the Bronx, Jerry & Joyce, Con & Lyn, Larry & Wendy, Duane & Kelli, Aracelis & Nelson, Kathy & Brian, Sabrina & Chad, Tina & Nick, Alberto the dentist from CA, Steve & Michelle from Long Island, the 4 guys from Las Vegas that looked like they were in a rock band(guy with a red baseball cap), the 6'10 tall NBA player that was incognito as a "Toronto student", the big group of single South Jersey girls and everyone else whose names I just can't remember!!!   Can't wait until Labor Day '02.
Thanks to DennyP for running this site so we can all stay in touch throughout the year!
