Michael & Lisa - 03/01

I would first like to thank all of you who post to this bulletin board as your comments and thoughts were very helpful in planning our recent trip to Jamaica.

We did not know our destination in Jamaica until one week out as we booked the SuperSurprise Plus through Carlson Wagonlit Travel in Milwaukee.  We eliminated Breezes Montego Bay, as the amenities just did not catch our eye as much as the other SuperClubs.

We did find out a week in advance from our travel agent that we were slotted for HedoII.  Deep down I wanted Negril, and didnt care if it was HedoII or Grand Lido Negril.  When my husband told me it was HedoII, I got an anxious feeling, not in a bad way, but a good way.  (As I had started pre-packing, after hearing about HedoII, I put half of my clothes away, knowing that I wouldnt be needing them . ..)

Reading your posts on HedoII gave us the mindset that we needed to arrive with an open mind.  So that we did..

Our arrival into Montego Bay on the afternoon of Sunday, March 18th was better than expected.  After leaving Milwaukees 20-degree temperature, getting off that plane in Montego Bay was pure bliss!  We reported to the Information desk to make sure we got HedoII, as some have told us that even though your travel agent tells you what resort you got a week in advance, that may change, so check at the desk as soon as you arrive at the airport, just to make sure.  HedoII was confirmed, so we went through customs, which took only minutes.  The next steps were to pick up our luggage, which was ready and waiting for us when we got downstairs, and then head over to the SuperClubs desk to find your spot to wait to be shuttled to your resort.

There were only two other couples that were with us on our bus ride to HedoII.  As for the bus ride, it was awesome!!!!  Our driver was very, very informative and very friendly.  He made the ride so worthwhile.  We stopped at a nice place for our first Red Stripe and were then our way to Negril.

Arrival and check-in at HedoII II was great.  We knew we would probably have to wait for our room, which we did, so we headed into the main bar area and started sampling some drinks (Dirty Bananas, Caribbean Joys, Purple Rains, etc., etc.).  It took about an hour before we were in our room, which was on the nude side (second floor).  We thought the room was nice.  Geraldine kept it so nice and clean for us.  I found it so refreshing that there was no television, and it was great to not hear a telephone ring!!!!  (Though it was available, I stayed away from the phone as much as possible!)  I also liked the CD player, as I brought some home-made CDs to listen to.

After unpacking a bit, we headed right over to the nude beach.  I, never having been on a nude beach before, was a little apprehensive at first, but we ate a cheeseburger from the grill, had a drink, and then shed our suits.  A little intimidating at first, I must admit, but that feeling wore off real quick.  As we were a little tired from our flight, we thought a hot tub would feel great, which it did.

I wont go into all details of each day or Ill be writing for hours, so heres a summary:

We thought the food was good.  We knew coming to HedoII, not to expect gourmet food or spectacular rooms.  We were well nourished throughout our stay.  Were not used to eating three meals a day, so we were pleased as could be with the great assortments for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Late afternoon jerk at the nude grill was a special treat too.  We loved Pastafari and the Scotch Bonnet was good too.

We had no complaints about the service or staff.  Not one person was rude to us in any way whatsoever.  As a matter of fact, the staff was very kind.  Many kudos to the Entertainment Staff who did a terrific job keeping us busy with all of the activities, morning, noon, and night!!  We miss them already!!!  (Thanks to Kittie Kat, Patrick, David, Chubby, Saint, Melanie, Crazy A, Tits, Diva, Dria, Lucky, Roxanne, Mad Max you guys are awesome!)

Also, be sure to take in a massage and manicure.  Ladies, if you have tips, be sure to get a fill and nail art from Nishka she does a better job than anyone Ive ever been to in the States!

The activities were endless during our stay.  You could participate in as much as you wanted (and earn Hedo Bucks doing so!) or not participate and just watch, or hang out, or whatever.   Some of the activities that went on during our stay on the nude side were:  twister, volleyball, shuffleboard, bocce ball, bingo, body painting, find your mate, arts n crafts, beer drinking contest, best buns/boobs, treasure hunt, scavenger hunt, water aerobics, best tan/no tan/burn/peel, ring toss, dirty joketelling, etc.

Theme nights were:

Monday            Reggae Party Night                   dress: red, gold and green

Tuesday            Battle of the Sexes/P.J. Night    dress: impy, skimpy lingerie

Wednesday            Las Vegas Night                 dress: Diamonds/Tux/Vegas Style

Thursday            Toga n Talent Night                  dress: No sheet, no eat, thats no bullsh*t

Friday              Jamaica Day on the Beach   dress: Cool n Comfy

Saturday            International Razzmatazz            dress: Casual Elegance

Sunday            Flashback Night                       dress: Bell bottoms (flip-wigs a must!)

The beach was very clean and nice.  The staff is up bright and early cleaning up the previous evenings tide remains, so you come out to a groomed beach each morning.  Plenty of lounge chairs and rafts for floating about in the crystal-clear sea water.

The water sports were awesome!  We kayaked over to the little island on our first full day.  The waves were a little rougher that day than days after, so we tipped over a couple times but got back up pretty good.  (Recommendation:  be sure to wear your watersocks!)

My husband scubad on Tuesday and had a great time.  Snorkeling was great too!  We went out on the afternoon boat and the water was so nice and clear.  All kinds of different fish, in an array of beautiful colors.  We even saw an old canon and an old anchor when snorkeling.

One morning we took the 7-mile bike ride into Negril with Patrick, who was great.  We stopped and did some shopping and then came back, took a break, and then went to the Rhodes Hall Plantation for some horseback riding, which was also great.

The weather was picture perfect every single day of our stay.  Not too hot, not too cool.  (Mid-80s everyday.)  Though, being from Wisconsin, Im not used to seeing the sun so much, so if youre fair, BE CAREFUL, and bring plenty of sunscreen along.  The sun is very intense, so take it easy with your sunbathing.  Do just a little each day to start, and work your way up to longer periods of basking.  We even pre-tanned before leaving and still got burned when we were diving/snorkeling.

The guests at HedoII were also very, very friendly.  People from all walks of life, all different ages, and sizes.  There were a number of return couples, who have been to the resort numerous times.  Being our first visit, we were asked by various repeat guests if we would return to HedoII.  Our answer:  Yes.  We probably wont return every year, or book directly because of price constraints, but if we book the SuperSurprise in the future and get HedoII, we will definitely not be disappointed.

We did see some extra-curricular activities going on in the hot tub and on the pool deck chairs, but we knew to expect to see this.

Our check-out went just as smoothly as our check-in.  (Thanks again to the Entertainment Staff for making our stay that much more enjoyable!!!)  No complaints, just a wonderful getaway, just the two of us.  HedoII is the kind of place you can go with your significant other and not be bothered at all, or participate in as much activity as you like.  For us, it was a needed vacation, and HedoII lived up to its slogan, Be Wicked For A Week.  We came away from HedoII feeling invigorated, refreshed, relaxed, and happy.

It was difficult getting back to work, but when co-workers asked about our trip and where we went, and if wed go back, I say, in a second.

If you are going to HedoII for the first time and are apprehensive or anxious, DONT BE!!  If you have any questions or concerns as a first-timer, please e-mail me at HULA77@aol.com.

Thanks for reading!
