Flight Out
We
flew out of Phila w/o any problems. One mistake we made
however is not accepting a "bump" to a later flight. The three or so
hour
delay was worth two round trip tickets on AJ to be used later.
Arrival
Arrived
a few minuets early and on the bus to Hedo within an
hour.
Bus Ride
Not
as bad as our last bus ride into Hedo in 96 (been taking
Tim Air for 3 previous trips). Met Madlyne from NYC (Dennys Page list).
Stopped for unnecessary beers. Passed by Gunga Bridge w/o purchasing (breaks
my heart , work pee test).
Check In
Shure
& swift. Got a room in the area we desired 2179.
Vacation Start
Met
up with a few from Dennys Page an awaited our friends from
home (11 total including us) to arrive. We were last at Hedo in 98. One thing
obviously changed PDA was not stopped during day or night (freedom is
good).
Almost all of our friends arrive three hrs later. Almost because two are
missing and were seen at the airport. We start to wonder what happened to
them. They arrived three days later. Their problem was a birth certificate
w/o a government seal (only had a hospital seal). Funny thing is that same
birth certificate worked on their previous Hedo trip last year. Made a mental
note, must get passports!
People Atmosphere
Generall
great people (guests) with one exception. A group
decided to claim ownership of a valuable section of beach (just to right of
Delroys if facing Delroys). They held a bochi ball tournment ALL WEEK ,ALL
DAY LONG. No one was allowed to join in! This inhibited the scheduled party
games (best breasts ext.).
Staff
Two
outstanding employees are Cleopatria Blair & Agustus
(beach cleaner). You two are GREAT! Problems with service like we never seen
otherwise. Towels, not delivered for DAYS! We looked all over as many did!
Toga night, no sheets in our room. Went to front desk and was told "we ran
out". I blew up and asked how difficult is it to count "one guest, one
sheet". Many had the same problem and did not wear Togas on Toga Night!
Roberts grill not opening up to after 1PM on two days. Also they ran out of
Jerk Chicken at 6PM after serving only 15 minuets! Never have we been treated
like this on our 4 previous trips. Take a note, Hedo was not completely
booked!
Cataraman Cruise
Great
as usual. Got a Kodak Moment photo of a rather large
man from PA (you party animal) jumping off the clifts. You are truely great
and in keeping with the highest tradition of the Hedo spirit!
Food
Ok
as usual but no lobster (not in season). It was
subsituted for Tuna not Shrimp! Hedo...your cutting too many corners and it
shows!
Flight Out
Got
delayed four hours....bummer.
Reflections
Hate
to be sour grapes but here goes. Thank God for the
guests, you make the place. Otherwise, management we think figures if they
allow all the freedom the guests want, they can cut back service and we will
still return. Well freedom is great. But we want our moneys worth!
