Jerry & Lynn - 06/01

Jerry and Lynn June 11-18

Someone said somewhere here on Dennys site that "Hedo is magical." After our first trip, we couldnt agree more!!!!

As hedo virgins we started reading trip reports and the message board to get an idea of what to expect. At times we were anxious that maybe we wouldnt fit in, as we arent what you can remotely call on the wild side and no single person who knows us would ever dream that we would go to a nude beach. But other reports and threads convinced us that if we went with an open mind and relaxed we would enjoy ourselves. And that we did!

The nude experience was so much easier than we expected. It is unbelievably liberating, and if you are wondering "does size or age matter?" we can say "ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!" There was literally every shape, size, and age of the species having a great time. If anything, having no clothes on takes away that mask we wear that reveals our occupation, our political leanings, and other quirks, and when you are nekkid you can simply be who you are. The number of people we got to know and the conversations we enjoyed were like nothing we have ever experienced on any other vacation. To all hedo virgins who are fretting about the whole idea of striping down and baring it all....... please allow yourself the joy of finding out how good it feels to have the warm Jamaican sun on your butt in the morning, the cool water of the pool to refresh you in the afternoon, the warm caressing jets of the hot tub soothe you in the moonlight, and the sensuality of it all ......... like we said, the place is magical.

Other details to share:

Check in was no sweat, no delay. We asked for an upgrade from prude garden to anything nude and got it with a smile. We were told on the first inquiry "No", but 2 minutes later one of us asked "how about tomorrow then?" Thats when he (Mickey, I think) figured out a way to switch. We lavished him with thanks and he shushed us and said "no problem".

Food: No complaints from us. Lots of variety and fresh fruits and veggies and very tasty breads. Charlie and his omelets are wonderful. He is such a cheerful guy! We had steak twice and liked the way it was marinated. We dined at Pastafari twice, shared wonderful food and conversation with two other couples, and if the service was slow, we didnt notice or care. The jerk chicken and fries at Roberts is well worth the wait --- get in line early!!! We didnt mind the ketchup, either!

Rooms: Again, no major complaints other than the noisy air conditioner and bathroom could use a remodeling, but the place is 20 something. Most important it was clean, we had plenty of towels, soft sheets, ok pillows, and the mirror on the ceiling!

Grounds: Augustus was the highlight of our setup on the beach in the morning. He is a proud man. Please help keep the beaches nice...he works so hard. (We brought him a pineapple juice and he was so grateful.) The resort gardens and facilities were clean and well kept. Something you dont always see other places. Beach towels were scarce so next time we will pack our own and not bother packing a raft. We left ours on the beach our last morningwe never bothered to blow it up and didnt want to lug it home.

We managed to spot a tree frog late one night on the path just behind the drink dispenser by the hot tub. A flood lamp backlit a large leaf and with close inspection we could see the silhouette of a tiny tree frog. We waited long enough for the frogs in the area to resume their singing. A memorable sound!

Entertainment Crew: We didnt see them much (or maybe just not notice themseems we were mellowed enough to not need their entertainment). We did manage to earn enough hedobucks for a bottle of tia maria, but we didnt do much of the organized activities. We were very impressed with the crew during the Thursday night entertainmentPaul the bartender can belt out a song like no other, four of them did the sexiest dance weve ever seen, and all in all they worked their cute little fannies (and other parts) off!

Nude pool and hot tub: The pool was cloudy one afternoon, but cleared up after that. The hot tub was another story. We heard the sand filter broke and it made it difficult, if impossible to keep clear. We could tell from the fumes that efforts were made to purify the water, in fact, the chlorine or bromine was strong enough to burn the eyes without dunking under water. The romantic atmosphere was only marred by an annoying curly haired, bespeckled vinnie/wallie/weirdo guy. We werent exactly shocked, but there was some playful female on female activity a couple of afternoons that went a little further than just being playful. Other PDAs were most noticeable in the pools, but veterans said things were pretty quiet compared to other weeks. It was just right for us.

The people: As stated above, we met and had meaningful conversations with just about every age and martial status. We talked with couples, male and female singles, people celebrating anniversaries (more than I can remember), retirements (ours!!), birthdays (Jose and especially SamHappy 30th Birthday!!!! The one you will never forget, were sure!), honeymoons (Jack and Carol), and just good nice friendly folks (Pam and Jeff, Jose and Barbarella, Panama Jim and Elly, Sam and Dale, Steve and Lynda, Liz, Jeff from NJ, Dave and Janet, and lots of other wonderful people whose names have escaped but we still remember!) We loved it all! When we wanted to be entertained by watching others, someone stepped up to fill the role; when we wanted to be "alone", no problem.

We hope to return, but we have a few other places we promised ourselves we would see first. Maybe sooner than we think........... the place is magical!!!!
