11/26/01 to 11/30/01

Damn, what a blast!

Flew in from Columbus/Charlotte on rather empty flights. Travel was very nice after the Thanksgiving holiday. The airports were empty and security was very polite. We got into MoBay at about 3:00 pm. As rookies we took the bus to Negril. The drivers and porters were hilarious in making fun of our trip to the "zoo". We met another couple on the bus that we partied with all week. Great trip! We'll never do it again. We flew back on TimAir and it was great!

Upon arrival we went to our Prude beach room to freshen up (we booked prude over a year in advance not knowing the layout.) Then it was off to the main bar for cocktails. Immediately we met a couple of veterans who told us that the resort was pretty empty but still loads of fun. We had read Chris Santilli's book before coming so we knew what to expect. After loads of drinks and a little dinner it was off to Veronica's. We met up with some folks that e-mailed us before coming and they gave us the Hedo tour. Then the tour moved to the hot tub and festivities began.

Our second day began with our first trip to the nude beach and pool. We instantly made friends with a few great repeater groups. Man, you folks are fun to party with. There were also a few other honeymoon couples around that we met. Lot's of PDA and we helped out too. We could tell it was a smaller crowd but that just made it easier to make new friends and party. The nude bar closed early but a few naked trips to the main bar is kinda fun.

We heard a lot of complaints from the veterans: food, no activities, stuff closing early; but we all seemed to have a blast. The food wasn't exactly 5-star but it filled the gap between cocktails quite nicely. The nude grill was awesome. There weren't too many Vinnies lingering about. We had one or two encounters that were easily solved with the proper use of English. As honeymooners we weren't really looking to swing all week and that went well. Everyone was very polite but playful. We even won a prize on PJ night. The toga night was great fun. We could tell that it was a little empty but it still made it easier to go off into smaller groups for drinks or whatever. There were even quite a few togas bearing the essential parts.

The only regrets we have about the whole trips are inconsequential. We didn't take many photos of ourselves or the new friends that we made. We didn't stay long enough.

We will be back next year for sure! The resort gave us two free days because of the construction. Hell, the only things that were under construction were the prude hot tub and disco. We really didn't miss anything.

Thanks to all the folks from Wisconsin, New York, California and others that made our trip memorable. We would love to go back and do it all over again. We welcome any questions or stories that anyone has.
