Hedonism II (November 10 - 14, 2001)
Hedonism III (November 14 - 20, 2001)
This was our first visit to Hedonism II and second visit to Hedonism III this
year. We
had purchased 16 days this year and decided to use the three free bonus days
and visit the
infamous Hedonism II prior to returning to Hedonism III.
Our flight on Air Jamaica originated out of Fort Lauderdale. In the
past, we flew direct to
Montego Bay. Unfortunately, Air Jamaica no longer has a direct flight to
Montego Bay.
Instead the flight arrives in Kingston. I guess we are spoiled since it
used to only take us
1 hour and 10 minutes to arrive in Montego Bay. Departing was from
Montego Bay to
Kingston, change planes and then off to Fort Lauderdale. Unless Air
Jamaica reverts
back to their old route, we will fly out of Miami. Other than that, the
flight was
uneventful. Upon arriving in Montego Bay we decided to take Tim Air to
Negril. Even
without reservations we were on a flight within a half hour. A word to
the wise. Be very
careful of Tim Airs competition. We were intercepted by an employee
of another
commuter airline who had passed himself off as an employee of Tim Air.
It didnt work
and we insisted upon traveling Tim Air. Tim Air offered a great flight
and a beautiful
opportunity to see the west coast. Upon landing we were bombarded by
drug dealers and
cab drivers. We split a cab ride with another couple to Hedonism II,
even though it is
within walking distance from the air strip. I think it was $10.00 for
all of us.
Having read Chriss book and monitoring Dennys site, we knew that
Hedonism II was
not Hedonism III. We found the property to be beautiful with lush
gardens and a very
nice beach. We were given a room on the prude side which was still close
to the dining
hall. The construction was a minor inconvenience, not so much the noise
but the detour
you had to take to get to the nude area. Our room was clean and we did
not have any
problems with the water pressure as stated by other visitors. There was
the occasional
power outage, phone outage and a problem with the air conditioning. We
spent very little
time in the room.
The nude pool and Jacuzzi area is much larger than Hedonism III. The
beach is also
much nicer. Now although we were only at the resort for a for 4 nights,
we found the
crowd to be a little bit older than Hedonism III. Unlike Hedonism III,
we did not see any
organized activities such as body shots, guess your mate, oil wrestling or
pussy shaving
contests. In fact it was very quite. We may have
had bad timing. There was a large group
of repeaters there who went by the name Zoo Pals.
Many of them were very nice but a few
were rather obnoxious, especially the rather large (not where
it counts) older Italian man.
We quickly became friends with three other couples and spent most our time
with them.
This included fun on the rafts of shore, night time activities in the Jacuzzi
and group
activities under the cover of darkness along side the Jacuzzi when the
temperature was
just too hot to handle. The hot tub was also the meeting place for just
about every single
guy who was there. Most were gentlemen but a few came very close to
being flown back
home on an air ambulance. Two of the females in our group were pretty
much stalked
by a couple of males who mistook the females friendliness for an invitation.
Our most memorable moment was when Gary paddled his way back into shore and
retrieved hamburgers and drinks for the others who were off shore on their
rafts. He
didnt spill a drink or meal.
We ate dinner in the dinning hall and found the food to be very good. As
for Pastafaris,
the food was good but the selection was not as diverse as the Pastafaris at
Hedonism III.
Munahana will be a great addition to Hedonism II as will the glass bottom
Jacuzzi and
slide. It is apparent that Hedonism II is going to adapt several
amenities that currently
exist at Hedonism III.
Will we return? Probably yes. In fact, we delayed our return
to Hedonism III so we could
spend more time with our new friends. We enjoyed Hedonism
II and will most likely return
once the construction is complete. Until then, we will
continue to return to Hedonism III. In
our opinion, there is more of a party atmosphere, younger crowd, more P.D.A.
at Hedonism III.
