Hedo2januarywebgang

20 to 21 January - Hedo2januarywebgang

Saturday:  The infamous Bus Ride From Hell was great, we got seats up front and were able to see every thing that almost killed us.  Arrival was very crowded with folks leaving and arriving, and of course checking in at the Lifestyles counter resulted in no key, come back in an hour.  We checked in with the Hedo 2 January Web Gang desk and finally met Vince and Bridget, our hosts.  We ate lunch, met other friends from the January Web Gang, and some friends from back home.  We waited, and waited, and waited for our key.  Lifestyles desk was getting keys randomly and we still waited.  This would have been fine, if we could have gone to the beach and stripped down, except for the 4 hours of rain.  After six hours, we finally got our key, to the room, drop the bags and head for the famous hot tub.  Then on to dinner, watch the show, head to the hot tub and then on to bed early.

The remainder of the week was pretty much the same as our first full day Sunday: Wake up, recreational time, mark our beach chairs, eat breakfast, back to the beach, lunch and the noon time spin, back to the beach, to the hot tub, shower, dinner, the nightly show, nap, hot tub, and to bed.

Now the deviations from the normal day described above.

Sunday: Sunday was pretty special in some ways though. First was the rain that started at 11:00AM and didnt end till 6:00PM, but that was offset by the arrival of the Canadian members of the Web Gang.  A huge bus arrived with all the friends we had made chatting and e-mailing back and forth for the better part of eight months.  Then we finally got everyone to the hot tub after dinner and what more can we say D & D, but WOW; and we do mean WOW.   And of course G, everyone was impressed by all of the screaming, wonderful work.

Monday:  We awoke to pounding surf outside our window and when we went to the beach we found that one of the platforms was on the beach and the other was being dragged down to the jetty for safe keeping.  No rafting, no sun and scattered rain for most of the day.

Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday: Well they blend together and were basically the same as any other.  We had rough surf for three days and no rafting or snorkeling.  We had a great time on Toga night and got plenty of pictures. (By the way, what was all the ruckus under the table B?  Hard to keep that toga in place, wasnt it?)

Friday and Saturday were pretty slow for us as we both were feeling poorly.  We lay on the beach, slept, ate meals, slept and got up in the morning.  We made it to the special Web Gang Mardi Gras party in the disco and cheered for those who won free nights. We did have to leave on Saturday and our bus was so slow, we missed our flight and had to stay in Montego Bay till noon on Sunday.  We arrived in Atlanta, got our car and drove the eight hours home arrive just after midnight, with six hours to sleep before going to work on Monday.

As former virgins, all we can say is, read the boards, ask questions, read Chriss book, and most of all, contact people from Dennys site and make friends before you leave.  It makes all the difference when you arrive to several hundred people; you already know some of them and can build on your Internet friendships.  Also, where is the checklist so we know when we arent Hedo virgins anymore?  We are sure we checked all of the blocks though, so if you have a copy please post it on the message board.

For the January Web Gang members: We want to thank all of you for the great friendship and especially for the concern when Kathy fell ill.  Everyone was just great.  We hope to continue building our friendships the third week of January 2002.  A great big Hedo THANK YOU to Vince and Bridget for putting the Web Gang together.

A special HI to G & S, B & A, D & D, T & C, V & B, B & L, C & T, B & V, K & P, L & D, of course G & T and especially G & I.  If youre not listed here, sorry there were so many great couples that we met, and we still remember all of you.  Until next year.
