Steve & Judy - 10/00

It was our first trip to Hedo II, and we had a wonderful time!! We just wanted to point out a few things we noticed, instead of the usual day by day trip report.

The entertainment staff was fabulous! They are sociable, friendly, and outgoing. I know that was their job, but they were good at remembering details also. The shows were great, and they did a wonderful job trying to motivate people to get up on stage and be part of the games. Iana, Jason, and Lucky were 3 that just seemed to bubble all day and all night long (energizer bunnies).

We had a few things we were surprised about though. Not bad things, but from what we've seen on the trip reports, I had a different vision of what it would be like.

One, people do not go nude everywhere you look. Actually, hardly anywhere. Just down at the nude pool and beach. An occasional person on a path in the nude area, but that was about all. A few outfits during meals were see-thru, but that was rare. We were surprised by the number of people at the nude pool area wearing clothes, and not being told to "move it or lose it". According to all of the trip reports, I got the impression that was not tolerated. However, there were people walking around fully clothed fairly often.

Two, I expected to see blatant sexual activities everywhere. That was not the case. I know we were not there during a "Lifestylers" week, but I also know some of the people there were. But unless you went down to the nude hottub after 11:00 pm, you could easily not ever have seen blatant sexual acts going on.

Three, the food was not nearly as bad as I expected. There was a variety, so if you didn't like one thing they were serving, there was always something you could find to eat. It was not a 5-star restaurant, and I love to eat good food, but that isn't why I was there anyways. My husband is a gourmet chef, and he really enjoyed the variety of food that was available.

The only real bad thing we found is you must be ready to fend off a relentless army of drug pushers both day and night. (Or maybe my 60's hippie look makes people think I want drugs). People would say hello, and being friendly, you would say hello back, and the next thing you know they are trying to sell you some kind of drugs. They are also everywhere in boats right outside the swimming lines. This included people who work everywhere within Hedo also, cooks, waiters, grounds keepers, etc... "No Thanks" was not good enough, you have to just ignore them and walk away quickly. So, if you are used to being friendly, don't be!

In the end, it was still a fabulous trip, and we are trying to figure out how and when we can get back there.
