Hedonism II 3rd week March 2000 (spring break season) Trip report (ALA suggestions to Management)

This was our second trip, first being in May 1999.

Thumbs up:

The food was great. Especially the fish dishes.

All of the staff; food, housekeeping, and of course entertainment were excellent.

The facility was clean and maintenance was obviously done. (The condition of the water in the nude hot tub is lacking at times, but that's understandable)

The bus ride from Mobay was actually kind of fun, (we flew last time) of course there were only 4 people on the bus. When is that road going to be finished?

Catamaran cruise

Piano Bar

As always the people you meet at Hedonism are the highlight of any trip.

It never rained once!

Thumbs down:

There were two entertainment events that were being professionally filmed with no explanation given. The wet tea-shirt contest and the bikini contest. It appears as though Hedonism entertainment is being sold for public consumption. I think some explanation should be given to the guests when this is done.

The gawkers into the nude pool area are beyond reason. Clothed traffic to and from Lido and to and from the snack bar is permitted. On top of that security is lax about people just walking through. Since this was spring break, there was almost a constant stream of the baseball-hats-on-backwards crowd through the nude pool area. I think the nude pool area should be nude, not clothing optional.

The island picknic also turned into a spectator sport with the hedo guests again being the spectacle. I learned later that the group was about 4 times larger than normal and the games had to be moved because of the wind. It may be better to put a limit on the size of the group.

The Disco. Why not build an old fashioned dance hall on bobby key for the use of all the resorts

Suggestion to management:

The entertainment after dinner again was great, but if you don't get one of the tables that are around the stage you can't see the show. How about giving up some of the table area to seating?

Suggestion to first timers:

If you are trying to decide whether or not to go. Read the book. THEN GO. If you have already decided to go, don't kill yourself trying to keep from missing something, you won't miss anything but you can kill yourself, I know.

Overall GREAT
