Gary & Lora - 11/00

Hedo Trip Report:

As Many of us have all done, we both spent endless hours reading everyone elses trip reports before we went, taking in as much information as possible.

This trip was more than just a vacation to Gary and I..it was also to mark the beginning of our married life together.  We had almost decided on a whim in August to go to Jamaica to some all inclusive resort, neither of us really sure what caught our eye about Hedo II.  Once we started looking more into Hedo, we realized that our lives could be made so simple by also getting married there.  Neither of us were apprehensive about going to a clothing optional resort, we love being nekkid!!  If you can imagine getting married ever being painless, Hedo is the place for you.  Lorna was most excellent as our wedding coordinator, handling everything totally for us.  Our involvement in our wedding preparations probably totalled all of 30 minutes to an hour, of which includes getting dressed for the ceremony.

We headed to Jamaica on Sat, the 4th of November, arriving after a short 3 hr flt.  Customs was a cinch and so was finding the Superclubs desk where we were seperated by resort to wait for our busses.  After what seemed a mile hike to our bus we met up with Keith, our driver, and our very own Vinnie  Pete.  The ride is sometimes slow, sometimes fast but never boring.  Lots of turns and near misses abound as Pete asks for a beer stop every 4 minutes.  We finally stop for beer about of the way there so Pete will be quiet. We arrived at Hedo about 1 hr 45 min after touching down on Jamaican soil.  We highly recommend taking the bus ride at least once.

Thanks to all the trip reports,  we knew not to expect speed at check in, but were totally amazed when after a mere 15 minutes we were heading off to our room.  Our room was moderate and met all our needsbed, shower and place to store and change clothing.

We leave our room about 10 minutes later headed toward the nude beach.  Gary is amazed that his trunks come off so easily as does my suit .

Our first day was spent mainly just the two of us just taking things in.  We have no complaints about the food anyplace, but then again, we didnt go there for the food.  Sunday was when the whirlwind began!   In a very short time we met most of our group that we spent most of the week with.  We had both been a little worried that we wouldnt meet anyone to hang with but were happy to say that was not the case!  Bernie and Frances, Jim and Terri, Chris and Liz, Mark and Kim,  Safety Joe and Patrick and Colleen (our wedding sharers) you guys ROCK!  Adam and YooJeung (Eve to us) joined our group that night as did Ron and Tonia (thanks Ron for being the water guard of the hot tub!).  Every group should appoint someone to be the group water slime swisher.

Monday started a busy day.  We spent about 10 minutes meeting with Lorna, our wedding coordinator to pick our wedding site; Jim turned 41; we watched, along with the Yorkshire television crew, the filming of the wet-tshirt contest in the main dining room; we took the catamaran to Ricks caf, I jumped off the cliff  once, Jim 2x, Mark once and Shannin, a rockin 5 times (all still alive btw); learned how to dance Jamaican and headed off for our group bachelor/bachelorette/birthday bash at Veronicas.    The PinPals started our night off right by generously (giggle) offering to tattoo certain body parts of our men.  What could be more fitting than for all the men of the wedding party to have matching roses for all to see, assuming they were all naked.  This, next to our wedding, ranks as one of our most memorable experiences.  Gary learned what a body shot was and Jim, Gary and I all got introduced to the flaming Bob Marleys.  Gary learned that one should NOT inhale the fire, just the liquid. Wayne (a great singer) sang a song for Gary and I which inspired  Adam to croon a love song to Eve, who seemed to be trying to hide within herself.  Adam.heck, cant figure out what to say about your singing!   The rest of the night ..well, who knows what happened!

Tuesday, our wedding day!  WOW!  We ate breakfast and headed back to our room to get dressed.  Gary headed down to the beach first to pass out the video camera and one shot cameras that we had brought.  I arrived about 10 min later with Lorna and the minister showing shortly thereafter.  We have watched the video quite a few times since then but neither of us can really  remember much about the actual event.  I remember tears and squeezing Garys hand and then the cheering from the swimmers when we finally got to kiss.  Patrick (our Best manaka Hedo DJ)  tried to trick us with the ever anticipated pretending to loose the rings and also saved the day when the minister asked who gives this bride away?  I think if he hadnt jumped in we may still be standing there.  After the ceremony we headed to Veronicas for the reception, not to mention the wonderful air conditioning.  Did someone forget to tell us that clothing gets hot in the Jamaican sun?  We learned a few new wedding traditions.bird feeding of the wedding cake and the glass dinging so we can lock lips!  The later was our favorite with Gary always spoon and glass in hand to provide the dinging when noone else would.  Our memories of our wedding day are filled with Joy and love from all of our new family, it would not have been so complete without all of  you.Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Adam and YooJeung left right after our wedding, sorry we were unable to give you the appropriate goodbye.   Tuesday night was the notorious PJ nightKim, Mark and Jim you guys are TOO much!  I think its true that you should be weary of the quiet ones, they will be the first to shock you!

Kim and Mark left on Wednesday, starting a new tradition for our group.  Although Im sure by the name of  Moon Hill it was not the first such tradition.  The only thing specific I can remember about some of the days is that when its 6pmits Jerk chicken time!  Of course I believe the cause of this memory problem was probably the rum punch.  Gary must be very talented to have been able to shower me, do my hair and dress me for dinner.  He was also very surly to not let me sit down in the shower when I wanted to!

Thursday was the great Toga night.  We were trying to be original and had taken Latex paint for my toga.  Luckily the person that sold it to us warned against applying over hair so Gary had to just use a sheet.  If you have never played with Latex I strongly urge you to do so!  What a feeling going on..and almost better coming off!  How else can one leave a perfect boob lie on the bar and still keep it with you as you walk away .  Its amazing the time and energy some people spent on their togas!  Lizs was very creative and showed her best assets, oh wait..we always got to see Lizs ( o Y o)s.

Friday..it started hitting us that it was almost time to go as we watched 3 more of our group leave.  Ron and Tonia along with Joe were heading back home.  I was able to add a new spin on the mooning and received accolades from one of the drivers that it was the best he had seen.  I said farewell to our 3some and also welcomed some new arrivers with a biking moon.  I do not recommend this for everyone as it takes a small amount of talent (giggle) of which I sometimes am ever so full of (talent, that is).  We both kept trying to figure out how to get Friday to last forever so we would not have to leave tomorrow.

Being unable to accomplish  this, we awoke to our  final Hedo day kicking and screaming.  We opted to once again take the bus back, needing to regroup for the return to where we call home.  We had decided that we were not ready for our wedding trip to be over, so after landing in St. Louis, we hopped another plane for fun in Atlanta.  We arrived back home to St. Louis the next morning and hit the bed.  Our bodies were tired so we were unable to feel the ache of Dreaded Island Fever.

Neither of us believe that there is a single staff member of Hedo that is not dedicated to helping the guests have fun! Patrick and KayAnn were tops in our book (esp since they were our Best Man and Maid of Honor).  The food is above average and always plentiful.

Were not big drinkers but what we had always served its purpose.  There are plenty of ammenities at Hedo II like tennis, basketball, weightroom, chess and a few other things that we noticed as we walked past them.  We know that some people enjoyed them, better them than us!

We cannot say enough good things about Hedonism II.  To use Chriss phrase.it is most excellent!  Thanks to Joe for always looking out for our safety and well being, and taking care of the dining arrangements.  Liz and Chris..thanks for being the group ring leaders and teaching us so many important customs!  Bernie and Frances..were sorry that we missed Luke Skywalker but hope that the force is always with you both!

Jim and Terri.you felt like the brother and sister that we would have wanted with us, sharing experiences with you was never dull!   Nice diving video Terri,  thanks for the show!  Ron and Tania, cant believe we werent invited to the raft shooting and thanks for  the  graphic (ugh) moon shot of my bootae.  Adam and YooJeung, when a man with no voice can croon like Adam, there is no doubt its love!  We also have to thank Adam for getting us the invite to crash the pinpals party.  Patrick and Colleen, we will always remember you guys (esp since we share an anniversary) but also for the comparison in mammories.  Dennis and Shannin.are the bruises gone yet????  Also a thanks for the good volleyball games to Howard and Cindy and Dennis and Sharron, stop in and say hi sometime Dennis (room 2131 on the C-concourse)!  Beyond all thatas they said on the final episode of M*A*S*H (even though we plan on this NOT being the final episode) GOODBYE, FAREWELL AND AMEN!!!!!!!
