Gary and Lisa - 4/30/00 to 5/5/00

Let's start out with Wow! That was the best vacation we have ever had. Period.

Rather than do a day by day, we'll just cover the highlights of the trip. First off, this was our virginal trip to Hedo and Jamaica. We need to say thanks to Denny and all those experienced folks we corresponded with prior to the trip. Although everything was still new and we learned a lot, we felt very prepared for the trip and what to expect.

We actually left Los Angeles on April 28 and spent the first two nights at the Firefly Hotel on the Negril beachfront. This was really a quaint little place and it was a great experience for meeting and talking with the locals. They are very friendly and more than happy to tell you some history, about their life, what Negril was like 20 years ago, what's the best ganja, etc. It was a great experience and an opportunity to get to know Jamaica a little better than you can do from within Hedo. We had a private taxi driver for the two days who took us around. We got to experience the nightlife at DeBuss, Alfred's, and Risky Business with live music and great food!

Firefly advertises a nude beach at the hotel, and we actually enjoyed it quite a bit. There were 5 or 6 couples nude at any time, but it is important to let you know that you are laying in a traffic area right on the main beach. Therefore, you need to be both comfortable with nudism, and a bit of an exhibitionist to truly enjoy the beach nude. As we are both, we had a great time. The beachfront is truly beautiful as seen from our private balcony (sorry, the pic is a little dark due to the lighting).

On Sunday we moved over to Hedo. Unfortunately we ended up in 2257 by the basketball courts. As we had heard about a TON of bumping, we were happy to simply get a room and just made the best of it. It really wasn't too bad--just had to keep the air conditioner on (as well as the blankets) through the night to drown out the disco and basketball noises.

We spent most every day relaxing at the nude beach, the nude pool, the nude grill, the nude hot tub. Snorkeling was great too! It was fun getting to meet and know so many people! We had met many great people off of Denny's visitor list prior to going and it was fun to then try to pick them out based upon the pictures we traded. I know that we missed some!

The first highlight was Lisa competing in the Wet T-Shirt contest. She had a great time competing and especially enjoyed her "chore" of having to have 4 guys rub ice on her and then lick it off.

Another big highlight was the Battle of the Sexes. We were surprised how much fun we had competing in this one. I won for the Guys in setting a better table than the Women! Lisa did quite a show in the fake orgasm contest. It was amazing watching her lay down on the dance floor and begin to touch herself sensually while faking the orgasm. Unfortunately, I did not have my camera that night and am kicking myself for not having any shots of that performance. If anyone reads this and has a shot please let us know!!

Toga night was another really fun time. Can't tell you how fun it is to watch all of the others acting crazy wearing nothing more than a sheet. It's amazing how creative some people can be with some simple material.

I participated in the shaving cream attack on Sandal's. That was too much fun! I know that I'm now a part of many vacation videos and pictures as one of those "wild perverts from Hedo." I know that we probably made their vacations have at least one bright moment! Maybe in the future one of those folks will stay at Hedo thanks to observing the amount of fun that can be had!

PJ night was unfortunately a bust. The disco was just too small for everyone and it was way too hot, too smoky, too crowded. We needed to move to the hot tub before we got sick. So did a LOT of people. This event really should be moved to the main dining room.

Probably the best moment of the week was being able to share in Ron and Chris' wedding. Although we had just met them during the check-in process, we feel like we have known them for years. It was truly a privilege and honor to stand up for you guys and share your special day!

We hopped on Tim Air on Friday morning to make the trip home. It was quite an "exciting" flight. That's all I'll say about that one in this trip report. (Is there such a thing as a 1500 foot high club????)

We truly enjoyed the times and memories with Lee & Jan, Dave & Amy, Dave & Jenny, Ken & Sherry, Paul & Desi, Laura & Jeff, Pete & Helga, and many others. The Entertainment Coordinators are a great and extremely hardworking group--they truly made the trip special. Thanks Marc, Jason, Patrick, Anton, and Tanya!

I'm still singing the song to myself: "When I say 'Hedo,' then you say 'neezum'…" It brings a smile to my face every time.
